Tohma
What got you into cosplay?
I was going to my first convention with the anime club from school. A lot of people were dressing up as characters from Gravitation and I had just watched the show and fallen in love with the character Seguchi Tohma, so I decided to dress up as him.
What was your first costume and why?
Seguchi Tohma from Gravitation. The cutest villian ever with the best warddrobe in anime.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I have several favorites. I like my Tohma outfit because the coat is great. I like my Hatsuharu school uniform because it is so comfortable. I love my Scrapped Princess outfit because the axe is the best weapon ever. It even comes apart. My manga Fai coat is incredibly fun to wear as well as my Byakko (who doesn't love having a 6 foot tail?).
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have several costumes I would like to make...not necessarily any dream ones. Someday I will have Fai from Tsubasa's entire wardrobe XD
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
The Jyunnishi Challenge from Otakon 2003. A group of us held this challenge where if you found all of us and glomped us you would win a special prize from Tohru at the end of Saturday. We got glomped a ton and did the Masguerade in our Fruits basket outfits. We handed out pins to anyone who glomped us and it went over really well. I cosplayed as Haru.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I've done a skit at almost every convention I've gone to. We used to only do them at Otakon every year. But now we have also done several at Katsucon, Nekocon, and Animazement.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Probably the Yami no Matsuei skit at Katsucon in 2007. The crowd loved it, I got to dance with a six foot tail dragging behind me, and we actually won awards for the first time ever for a skit. It was a great experience.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
