What got you into cosplay?
My geekiness and needing more than just Halloween as a reason to get in costume.
What was your first costume and why?
Ren Fest costume for the Michigan Renaissance Festival. This evolved over the years as I added pieces, until Halloween 2004 when I decided that since I had bought pointed ears for it, it now deserved to be given an identity. This became the costume for Maeglin Tasartir, my original elven character from The Lord of the Rings.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Well, one of my favorite dream costumes would not be one worn by me, but rather someone else: Princess Leia in the metal bikini. ^_^ (www.leiasmetalbikini.com)
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Ohayocon 2006. I finished my pocky box costume in the hotel lobby, put it on, and walked into the food court of the convention center (of all places for the skywalk to come lead into). I blew my noisemaker to draw attention, and everyone turned and suddenly started cheering, clapping, and taking pictures! I never expected that!
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes.

Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yeah! I got a sword for my elf costume!

Job: Mechanical engineer. Hobbies: RPG (d20!), photography (portraits are my favorite), Star Wars, Star Trek, anime, science, mathematics, surfing the Internet, self-improvement, business ownership.
