What got you into cosplay?
I like to sew. I like to make things. In a way, the planning stages (of complicated things, mostly) are like puzzles to me. And I like puzzles.
What was your first costume and why?
My first real costume was Saint Tail because it was simple, not overdone, and I didn't need a wig for it since I have red hair. (I did use a horrible, horrible ponytail extension though.) Perhaps I'll pull it together again someday for kicks.
What is your favorite costume and why?
So far, Crazula. It's been well received, it's very comfortable, and just fun to wear. I have a weird thing for crazy.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I'm currently working one of my dream costumes. Hermes from Persona 3. It's an adventure already. In terms of the future, my relatively far-fetched dream cosplay is the Numb Body from Silent Hill 3. It will happen someday. Just don't know when or exactly how.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I won a Halloween costume contest in one of my classes in 2007, but up to this point, I haven't felt like anything of mine is up to contest standards. I'm hoping that Hermes will turn out well enough that I can compete with it.
Tell us a little about yourself
I am currently in my first senior year of college. It will be followed by a second senior year and then 4 years of med school. Basically, school forever. As a contrast to being pre-med, I'm a film major concentrating in media studies. I get weird reactions when I tell people that.
My favorite anime
Eden of the East, Fushigi Yuugi, FLCL, Gurren Lagann, Fullmetal Alchemist. And I'll always have a nostalgic soft spot for Sailor Moon.
My favorite game(s)
Persona 3, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, Phoenix Wright. The list continues to grow.
