I do not make costumes for other people - costuming is my hobby, not my job. Sorry!

Hi there, I'm Kell. I'm a freelance illustrator living in Memphis, TN. I'm married with 2 dogs (Indiana Jones & Kestrel) and 1 cat (Calvin). My husband is also a costumer, and we really love working on projects together. I've been costuming since 1998 - I like to do a little bit of everything. I started out in anime/video games and have since moved onto movie recreations (Star Wars especially), Disney Princesses, superheroes, cartoons, and anything else that captures my fancy. Costuming, for me, never gets old because it's always something new - every project presents a new challenge, new ideas, new conventions, new people, it's always interesting, to say the least!
I am Southern based - I attend Dragoncon, and a number of other TN based cons (MTAC, MidSouthCon, Adventurecon). I'vein the past attended San Diego Comic Con, Anime Expo, Otakon, A-Kon and a few others; we don't have as much time to travel as we used to, unfortunately :)

What got you into cosplay?
My parents used to take me to scifi conventions as a kid, plus my family has always been big into making costumes for Halloween. I decided for Halloween 1999 I wanted to make my own costume, from the video I was currently playing, (Quistis - FF8), so I guess that was my first official cosplay.
What was your first costume and why?
Quistis Trepe from Final Fantasy 8. Since I didn't know anything about sewing, my grandmother did a lot of it and taught me a lot. It's far from accurate but I had so much fun!
What is your favorite costume and why?
My regular Leia costume, my Queen Amidala parade dress, my Belle costume, my Belldandy costume, and both of my Wonder Woman costumes. All of them for different reasons :)
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Sarah's ballgown from Labyrinth, Marie Antoinette (I like big dresses!)
