What got you into cosplay?
I have been aware of cosplaying for some time, but never really had the opportunity to get into it until fairly recently. I went to my first convention in 2007 and decided to give it a shot after seeing so many people dressed up as my favorite video game characters. It's one of the few ways, other than theater and alcohol, that I use to break my often incapacitating shyness. When in costume, I loosen up.
What was your first costume and why?
My Cid Highwind costume. I'm a huge Final Fantasy VII fan, and Cid is the only one I can remotely pull off. Plus I have a foul mouth and am a chain smoker anyway. So it all works out.
What is your favorite costume and why?
The Sweet Tooth one. I just really like the way it came out.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
A Melchiah costume from Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. His pre-evolved form. There are several others, actually. Would really like to make Khezu U Gunner Armor from the Monster Hunter series. And I would love to do Sydney from Vagrant Story if I only had the physique to do it lol. I wish I could make a Pyramid Head costume! The original Silent Hill 2 Pyramid Head design. I find it to be superior to the film and Silent Hill: Homecoming design.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Um... Going to a dance dressed as Cid and getting in the middle of a circle while everyone was going "Cid! Cid! Cid!". That really made my night.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I've only been to one, but it was fun.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
My Kefka costume won 3rd Place at the Dragon*Con After Dark costume contest. Not bad for someone who was pulled and asked to enter it 10 minutes before the contest began lol. I was more than happy if not quite shocked.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a befuddled 29 year old who suffers from severe shyness and self-esteem issues. Thought I might be able to find some friends and like-minded people here. I used to paint, draw, do theater, etc. But not so much anymore. Life kinda gets in the way after a while. Used to play guitar as well. I love to sing; I'm just not very good at it. I also enjoy social drinking occasionally and karaoke.

Not a big anime person to be honest. I like Akira, Ninja Scroll, Princess Mononoke, and a couple of others. Been getting into Highschool of the Dead recently.

Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear series, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Silent Hill series (Homecoming sucked though), The Adventures of Willy Beamish, Earthworm Jim, Fallout 3, Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, Little Big Planet, Katamary series, Kirby series, Fatal Frame 2, Demon's Souls, Legacy of Kain series, Monster Hunter series, Star Fox, Resident Evil series, Endless Ocean, Mega Man series, Bioshock, Out of this World, Super Metroid, God of War series, etc. I really can't think of them all. There are a lot.

Les Miserables, World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, The Zombie Survival Guide, Pet Semetary. I don't get to read as much as I would like to.

American Beauty, The Wizard of Oz, Ghostbusters, The Godfather, The Shawshank Redemption, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, LOTR trilogy, The Big Lebowski, etc. Way too many to list.
My favorite actors/actresses
I don't really have a favorite. I like Brian Cox a lot. Simon Templeman and Michael Bell are my favorite voice actors. That's about the only real preferences I have.
