What got you into cosplay?
I went to an anime con for a day when I was 14, but I had no idea what it was about, nor about cosplay. 5 years later when I was 19, I got a flyer for Anime Detour 2K8 from a friend, and so I decided to go with a few other friends. I've never looked back and am an avid cosplayer now. ^o^
What was your first costume and why?
First costume was Yoruichi, because she looked like me and it was pretty easy to make.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Wa Loli, because I love the kawaii skirts and doll-likeness! <3
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yes, and one I want to buy. I want to buy a floor-length Sweet Loli pink and white dress, and then I want to make an arrancar outfit for Yoruichi. <3
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
KatsuCon 2K9, while waiting in the long-ass line to get into the Dealer's Room.
My friend had his iPod hooked up to portable speakers, and started to play Caramel Dansen. I love that song, so naturally I started to dance, causing a few of my friends to join in. Then, a couple people in front and in back of us started to dance.
Within 4 minutes of the song, THE WHOLE FREAKIN' LINE WAS DANCING WITH US. <3 It was so epic, and my friend got it on tape. I was so happy I almost cried. (Instead, I was hysterically laughing for half an hour. XD) Good times.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I haven't yet, but I really, really want to. <3 ...you do mean the Anime Masquerade / Walk-On, right? XD
What was your best masquerade experience?
Well, at Anime Detour 2K9, the last performance was done by the whole of Organization 13, and they did the song 'You Can't Stop The Beat' from Hairspray. They all did wonderfully, and were so in-sync. The crowd roared with applause. <3
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
None yet, but I'll get there! ^o^
Tell us a little about yourself
My hobbies are cosplaying / con-going, reading manga, listening to music, writing stories / roleplays, and drawing. I love to draw. <3 I have been drawing since I was 2 years old, and will continue drawing... forever. X3 I am currently in the process of getting into Westwood College to get my bachelor of science in animation. ^o^ I want to create beautiful anime and manga just like the ones that I've read and loved, and to be able to capture the heart of the readers as my favorite manga has captured mine. And one day, I want to reach Miyazaki Hayao's level of amazing skill, and to make a few anime movies like him. ^0^
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Some day I'm gonna be an amazing artist! Just you wait! ^o^ I'll make them all respect and acknowledge me by going above and beyond anything I've ever imagined. I may draw well now, but one day it will be on the level of some of the greatest artists anywhere, and you will all know my name.
My favorite anime
Sailor Moon (forever~! <3), Red River, Alice 19th, Goong, Limited Lovers, Hadashi de Bara wo Fume, Skip-Beat, Bleach, Naruto, First Girl, Tenshi Nanka ja Nai, Gokinjo Monogatari, and MARS.
My favorite game(s)
Any Naruto fighting game, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Band Hero (the singing part), Mario Golkf: Toadstool Tour, Wii Play, and Wii Fit. I really need to get back into the gaming world... u.u;
My favorite book(s)
Romiette and Julio - Sharon Draper, My Sister's Keeper - Jodi Picoult, The Tenth Circle - Jodi Picoult, Plain Truth - Jodi Picoult, Speak - Laurie Halse Anderson, Catalyst - Laurie Halse Anderson, Michal - Jill Eileen Smith, Redeeming Love - Francine Rivers, Like Water For Chocolate - Laura Esquivel, and The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald, to name a few. X3 <~~~loves to read
My favorite character(s)
Currently, it's Kakinomoto Karin, from Limited Lovers. I loved that manga most, because Karin's character changed and grew and evolved beautifully during that manga. Her character did a 360, and I love it the most when a character grows and changes as a person in a manga. <3
My favorite movies(s)
Currently, Avatar. That movie was so amazing and wholesome; it really satisfied not only my craving for closure, but it touched my spirit, too. ^0^ I love stories where a fallen, broken person can have a second chance to be something more.
My favorite actors/actresses
Jim Carrey, hands down, is my favorite actor of all time. <3 Then next is Brad Pitt, Nicolas Cage, Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart, Heath Ledger (RIP <3), and Robert Downey Jr., and Sam Worthington.
...lol, I my favorites are only male actors. XD
