What got you into cosplay?
Well, obviously observing superfantasticawesomecosplayers at the various conventions I've been to over the years. But what really got me started was my former friend, Ashadeus, and former girlfriend. My former girlfriend was my first ever Axel cosplayer, and I, being the akuroku fantard I am, cosplayed Roxas.
Since then, I've made many plans, a lot of which have been discarded, but most actually have some part or other in the works. Love me some in-character-tastiness.
What was your first costume and why?
Twilight Town Roxas. The girl I was dating at the time was my Axel and I'm a fangirl like that. Ended up being good times.
What is your favorite costume and why?
At the moment, Marluxia. He's still in-progress since the coat's not done (Thank you, vexy!), but he'll be making his second debut at Otakon this year. I get a lot of compliments for my scythe (made by fev, check her out, she's superawesomecool at prop-making), and I love being flower-boy. Did you know Nomura originally intended him to be a female character? Now ya do. <3
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I really want to cosplay Ivy's blue outfit from I think it's Soul Calibur II? The one for the Gamecube. She has this awesome blue coat with gold and black epaulets and these really awesome thigh-high white boots.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Nothing good, unfortunately. My Yazoo and Roxas costumes were stolen out of my hotel room at Katsucon in 2008. I still hope beyond hope that at least my Roxas things are returned to me. ;~;
Do you participate in masquerades?
I did. Unfortunately because of the aforementioned theft of my Yazoo costume, I had to wear things out of my suitcase and because of technical difficulty, our audio sucked. I was in a skit called Chocobo Racing with Jenovaheart (Kadaj) and CaptainJWesker (Loz). Yay yaoi fanservice? ><;
What was your best masquerade experience?
Well, if anyone actually saw our Chocobo Racing skit, I actually tripped over my boots while I was leaning in to kiss Loz, and ended up laying on top of her. Apparently it seemed staged, and many yaoi fangirls were happy.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Nu. I mostly commission my costumes, but I am starting sewing lessons under a local renaissance costumer soon! =D
Tell us a little about yourself
Uh... cosplay obviously is one of my hobbies.
I work at my college as an office assistant, and I also work part time on weekends at my local Joann's. I'm in school... I have a big family. Don't want to talk about them, much, though, because they're a huge contributor of stress in my life. -.-;;
