What got you into cosplay?
My best friend who took me to my first con, Anime Detour. Unfortunately, she left me at the artist's booth for a long time so I drew for other people. But in the downtime, I got to see so many other people dressing up, it just looked so FREAKIN' fun!
What was your first costume and why?
My Yukata that my host family gave to me as a g'bye present. I guess that was all I got in my closet. Otherwise it'd be my Misato outfit. I thought my boyfriend could make a good Kaji, so I chose Misato from Evangelion.
What is your favorite costume and why?
So far, my misato costume. I haven't really cosplayed that much yet. I went as paprika, and I was pretty close to it... Sometimes I wondered if people even knew I was cosplaying. haha!
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Ashe (FFXII), or Yuna (FFX-2), Mothra (Godzilla), Nina (BoF3), Prince (Katamari), Gitaroo Man and a few others...
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Running around in my Misato outfit and being asked to have my picture taken by so many people! It was very exciting. I felt proud of myself :P
Do you participate in masquerades?
I would like to some day :)
Tell us a little about yourself
I am an animation student at the Art Institutes Int'l Minnesota. I haven't been to many conventions due to my parents' over protective-ness. However, I try hard to save money for the next con like everyone else.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
For those of you who draw: draw something out of your style. If you draw anime, try drawing comic book style or UPA style or something. Get out of your box and experience new styles and techniques!
