What got you into cosplay?
Ambition to try new things, my will for experimentation, and the acceptance of things that I liked and thought were cool. ^_^
What was your first costume and why?
First cosplay was Reno from Final Fantasy back in 2008 december at DTAC. Was pretty cool. I love FF and I'm a big ass FF Fanboy. I thought that Reno would be that easy enough to cosplay, hard to get the detail and perfections spot on, kinda deal that I could work at. I loved it and it came a long way until it got showcased and made me happy woooo.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Right now!? Uh....as of July 2010, it's going between the Dread Pirate Roberts from Princess Bride, and ShyGuy that I JUST made a couple days ago. Roberts because Princess Bride is my favourite movie of all time (apologies in advance if we ever watch it and I quote the entire script haha), and because ShyGuy made people smile. ^_^ I seem to like cosplaying short characters luls.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yes. Right now, it's looking like my Epical dream to make Waspinator from Beasties for Anime North 2011. Dude, he's F***ing Waspinator, F-Yeah!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Are you kidding me? Hooly Moses...hmmm. There's soo many!
-A startling Burgerking Shudder from Anime north. If the King walked up behind you without you knowing and the first thing you see is his grinning mug with a whopper in hand....how would you react? XD Wtf I know right?
-Flying to Atlanta for AWA 09! It was my first con outside Canada! It was badass! I like being adventurous and it was the adventure of flying out to another country for a con, and to meet some wonderful friends that I don't get to see too often. <3
-My wall infront of my desk that is plastered with the unique art samples from different artists Alleys is beautifully nolstalgic in memory. In fact, I have a bunch of little 3 inch figures on my desk and I usually get one per con. Each figure represents a fond memory and all I have to do is look at it and smile because I recall a wonderful time.
-Con raves where the music was hella offbeat...HOW THE HELL DO YOU HAS DANCE TO 5/8TH NOTES!? XD
-Panels, harassing VA's in good fun that I'm friends with. XD
-The night my Reno ponytail got tangled and was FFFFUUUUU** up, a wonderful and well loved friend of mine spent like over 9000 hours trying to turn it back from a dreadlocked Turk wig for me, and I appreciated the attempted venture.
-Running down the halls at AN and FanExpo screaming at the top of my lungs like an idiot doing my Vash run impression XD
But in all honesty, it's been the amazing people i have in my life that I've met because of Con and Cosplay experiences. <3
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yessum. I didn't at first, but after entering for the fun of it and winning a small something, I appreciated the judging and the attention to craftmanship, and meeting cool people in the green rooms. I'm currently a Journeyman Masq. cosplayer, from a July "Best In Show" win from ConBravo for my ShyGuy. I look forward to taking my costuming to a more advanced and fun making level!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yeahp! I won 2nd in the Masq at Wizard Con 2010 for my CandleJack (to which the 3 Elvis Judges referred to as "the creepy guy" from batman) luls. As well as a "Best In Show" for my ShyGuy at ConBravo 2010! I can't wait to work hard for sommmmore! =D
Tell us a little about yourself
Well, there's a lot to tell, and I'm more of an inperson talker when it comes to the "get to know you stuff". So if you wanna know, I'd be glad to chat and get to know you in return. ^_^
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Yes, how the hell do they get those little M's on the M&M's?
I think it's totally a tiny typewriter and pocket chimps. *nods*
My favorite game(s)
Oh god....really? Let's keep it simple:
I truely believe the SNES was the Golden Era.
SMRPG , DKC, Kirby Super Star, Turtles In Time, Chrono Trigger & FF6!
(first that came to mind, there's hella more though!)
N64: Mario64, Snowboard Kids, Goldeneye & Perfect Dark, Mario Kart durr!
Psx: FF7, FF Tactics, Legend of Mana!, Legend of Dragoon, Star Ocean (especially 2!), Chrono Cross, Lunar Silver Star! ^^
God so many...
One of the more obscure ones is an Xbox game called: Phantom Dust. It was a game that I played and was consumed in bliss by. I eventually played the ladders of both Japan and North America and held the #2 tag team spot for a while and was ranked 7th in the world. It was such a favourite game to me. I love games that you can uniquely customize yourself so that everyone has something personal and unique about their weapons/style/function.
-Ds Mario Kart...this could go on forever right? ;D
My favorite character(s)
OOhhh man...let's keep it short to 10 first off the top of my head! In no Particular Order:
Leon Kennedy: A badass with an attitude that isn't superhuman. His witt and skill at blowing things head's off appeals to me as I'm not one to shoot things, but we share the same views on protecting those close to us and keeping them safe.
Reno of the Turks: A lovable idiot who knows how to fly a helicopter. He's loyal to the task at hand and has respect for those high up, and would never follow those he doesn't respect. Plus, I like to use my tongue XD
Vincent: Who didn't like Vinny? I know the chicks all love the dark brooding type, but I thought he was a silent badass who solves things with action when words aren't necessary.
Vash: I'm kinda the same way in the sense that Vash has a comical fun innocent side to him, and when things get heavy, his seriousness comes out to control and handle the situation so no one gets hurt. (I'm just a protective person by nature and like to protect and
My favorite movies(s)
Nightmare Before Christmas!
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (things with RDJ are always good)
The Dark Knight
Hmmm...damn there's too many!
My favorite actors/actresses
Hmmm, well.... *sucks in air like Ace Ventura before doing a rant*
Let's start with Jim Carrey, I love the guy and he was a big influence on my personality when I was growing up.
Next I'll throw in my first celebrity crush, Miss Claire Danes. I'm a guy, and I'll admit it, but I loved the Rome+Juliet with Danes and Decaprio. Sue me. ;D
Johnny Depp! Do I neeeed to exprains why? Captain Jack is one of my favourite characters of ever. Not to mention all the other Burton films. Hearts for Timmy Burton too!
Anne Hathaway. I'm going to knock a superficial chip into my shoulder, but she's friggin gorgeous. And aside from that, she also carries herself well, she's polite and respectful and that kinda girl who'd be first choice to take to a fancy dinner party, or pull onto the couch for a movie under some blankets. /end gush
Speaking of Carries....Cary Elwes! Not only is he the star of my favourite movie ever, (the princess bride), but men in tights was high-larious too!
I could go on..
