What got you into cosplay?
Being able to prance around as a favorite character and make costumes for original and existing characters. Talk about fun! There's also another reason, but I'm not telling~
What was your first costume and why?
Kurai's volume 3 outfit. I simply adore Kurai and have a particular connection to the character. I chose this outfit to start with because while the overall outfit was easy enough for a beginner, it also added the challenge of making wings (of which had to be made twice and are still being tweaked). Plus, it was a costume that was a bit less popular.
What is your favorite costume and why?
At the moment? Himemiya Anthy! It's just so much fun being in a big, poofy dress! Though, one of my neighbors did think I was suppose to be the Statue of Liberty... I sense a spoof picture coming up! XP
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Currently? Umm... Yuki Onna from the Japanese legends. I plan to use Heian period kimonos, which will probably be heavy, but beautiful. <3 However, on the anime side, I'd have to say Ann from Sailor Moon. I love her rather bratty personality, plus having an Ail to pose with me would be just wonderful! =)
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Just cosplaying Freya Crescent for the first time. I loved the fact that I did her enough justice to be crowd pleasing =) Though, I was called a llama. XD
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not particularly, but I'm willing for the right group.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I unexpectedly got a Hall Cosplay award for my Anthy costume at Nekocon XI. ^^() However, while people ask me to, I'll probably refrain from actively competing with my costumes unless it's for something like cosplaylab.com's look alike contest. I dunno. I don't like cosplay's competitive environment. It's a bit too negative for my tastes...
Tell us a little about yourself
I love music, art, and umm... sitting around, not doing much. I also have a major soft spot for cats or catlike personalities. (*cough* Kurai...Merle... Ann *cough cough*) I also love learning about histories outside of the US, especially if it's art history!
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I'd like to consider myself easy to get along with. I love jokes, hugs, and long conversations even though I'm mostly a shy person. I get attached to people pretty easily, but I try not to be clingy.
My favorite anime
Tenchi (though I'm not too excited about the Tenchi in Tokyo or Ryo-ohki seasons), Witch Hunter Robin, Trigun, Fruits Basket, Beck, Last Exile, Furi Kuri, Skip Beat, Toradora, Heroic Legend of Arslan, Kyou Kara Maoh, Gundam Wing, and Cowboy Bebop. No particular order.
My favorite game(s)
Umm... Grandia II, Dokapon Kingdom, Legend of Dragoon, Ultima Online, Chrono Cross, Suikoden III, World of Warcraft, LoTRO, Lose Your Marbles, aaaannnnnddddd... Albert Odyssey (because it was the first rpg I ever played.)
My favorite book(s)
Sorcerer's Son and Crystal Palace (first fantasy books I've ever read), the Death Gate series, The Scarlet Letter, Brave New World, and I'm also reading the Cheysuli series, but I need to buy the second book because I lost my dad's copy. In the meantime, I've been able to indulge myself with a bit of David Edding's writing.
My favorite character(s)
Too many. Plain and Simple. But Sesshoumaru is VERY high up there. Along with Miliardo Peacecraft, Kurai, and Kyoko from Skip Beat.
My favorite movies(s)
Too many.
