What got you into cosplay?
Who, actually. My mentor and close friend Juego made a Medic cosplay a few years ago, and I wanted to make one of my own. The man is practically my older brother, that is, if my gigantic crush on him didn't get in the way.
What was your first costume and why?
The Medic from Team Fortress 2, inspired by Juego's design. I've also added a bit of that genuine female flair to it, since I'm a young woman.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Simon Petrikov. Who would have known that the Ice King was toting around some major class (and a comfortable suit) before all hell broke loose?
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
The Eighth Doctor from Doctor Who. I have spent a total of two years working on this costume alone.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Dragon*Con 2011. Held a TF2 meetup, bought some merchandise pertaining to my fandoms, met Sylvester McCoy and a couple of other Whovians, and spent a moment with the man I love. All in two days.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Nope, I'm too shy.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I haven't won anything of the sort yet.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm in college now, trying to get my degree to become an English or Mythology teacher.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I hate Yaoi fangirls. Please learn the difference between fantasy and reality.
My favorite anime
Cowboy Bebop, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
My favorite game(s)
The Shin Megami Tensei series (Persona mostly), the Half-Life series, and a lovely bunch of other RPGs. I used to play Team Fortress 2 like crazy, but not so much anymore as I tend to focus more on my academical studies.
My favorite book(s)
Discworld and Harry Potter. (Is it just me, or is British literature better than American?)
My favorite character(s)
Simon Petrikov/ the Ice King, Marceline the Vampire Queen (Adventure Time).
My favorite movies(s)
Back to the Future (Parts 1, 2, and 3), Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the Star Wars Trilogy.
My favorite actors/actresses
Jeff Bridges, Tom Baker, Matt Smith, Sylvester McCoy, and Paul McGann. Enough said.
