What got you into cosplay?
My love for sewing and fandom, and the idea that other people were doing it and turning into really amazing renditions of such idealistic-looking characters. I knew it was like any creative hobby that took practice, dedication, and doubtlessly a good flow of money to pour into it, but I feel I've gotten better. And I absolutely do enjoy it; in a weird way, it boosts my self-esteem.
What was your first costume and why?
Pretty sure it was a rather crappy rendition of Cynthia from Pokemon. The sewing work was actually pretty good, even by my standards today, but I wasn't exactly cut out for it. It was good beginning practice, though! I still have the outfit collecting dust somewhere, too, so maybe I'll revise and refine it at some point.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Indeed I do, though considering the amount of money, effort, and blood/sweat/tears I'd have to pour into a costume of such obscure origin, it will probably remain a dream for the foreseeable future.
This beautiful lady is Koubuin Yuuhi, the shogun of the Japanese empire in the visual novel Muv-Luv Alternative. Gorgeous genetics, gorgeous hair, and a gorgeous formal outfit... but lord, something like this would be the death of me.
But still... maybe someday?
Do you participate in masquerades?
No, but I'd definitely like to start at some point. I don't really get stage fright, and if anything, I love being on stage. I'd also like to try some of the cosplay game shows some cons have; I'm seriously eying getting one of my characters into an anime dating game at some point... B)
My favorite anime
Yu-Gi-Oh (ALL OF THEM), Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Pita-Ten, other stuff idk
My favorite game(s)
Pokemon, Muv-Luv, TYPE-MOON works, Final Fantasy (mostly IX and XIII/-2), Ace Attorney, Xenosaga, Super Mario
My favorite character(s)
ALL OF THEM.
...By which I mean, it's probably easier for me to list off characters I DON'T like than the ones I do. Oh man.
