What got you into cosplay?
Ever since I was little I loved dressing up. I really got into making costumes in high school. Whenever we had the themed dress up days for homecoming, I always went all out. One year I made this epic Bastila Shan (a la KOTOR) costume, and when my friends dragged me to an anime con later that year I was thrilled to wear that costume again!
What was your first costume and why?
Bastila Shan. In highschool I was kind of obsessed with KOTOR and I was kind of in love with Bastila.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My green Victorian dress. I put a lot into it, and I'm very proud of the result, even though it does need some minor improvements.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Romulan from Star Trek. Though, my long term life goal as a historical costumer is to have at least one dress from every fashion era in the late Victorian period.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I picked up two random hall awards at Arisia 09. It meant a lot to me.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not yet, but I really want to soon.

Tell us a little about yourself
I'm in my second year of college now, majoring in microbiology. In addition to sewing my fingers off, I like brewing beer, making cheese and yogurt(I've never met a microbiologist who doesn't love fermenting things), and photography. I'm still figuring out what I want to do after graduation, but I definitely want to be some sort of fermentation expert, like a sommelier or work in a yeast lab. My back up plan is to become a pirate.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I've been getting a little into dance/performance costuming, after my friend who heads up the burlesque group dragged me into it.
