What got you into cosplay?
I was always into playing dress-up. In high school I would push my normal clothing as close to a character costume as possible without getting caught by my teachers. When the term "cosplay" was first introduced, I realized that there was, in fact, a name for my affliction. =)
What was your first costume and why?
The first costume I ever made to try and copy a character's costume completely was Garnet from FFIX. It was three days before Halloween and I hand stitched bright yellow duckcloth up until the last moment with no pattern. It came out okay, but I'm a perfectionist at heart so I look back on it and always think of what I would do if I ever made it again.
What is your favorite costume and why?
LOL. This is so stupid, but I had a blue dress as a kid that my mom got me from a store that sold bridesmaid dresses. I didn't grow very fast so I got to wear the thing three years in a row for Halloween. On quiet days I would lock my bedroom door and prance around in the thing with a plastic tiara on my head. I don't think I've ever loved any other costume as much.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Now that I'm actually making the Flynn Scifo costume, my new dream costume is Shirakaba from All Purpose Cat Girl Nuku Nuku TV. It would be SOOO fun to run around in a big poofy pink dress laughing that obnoxious laugh of hers.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not yet...Maybe now that I'm all unemployed and have a bunch of time on my hands for sewing....we'll see.
Tell us a little about yourself
Currently a student. I work at RPFS every Spring as a Puritan. (except last year when I took a break to try a happy character whom I named Kitty Undermen.) I tend to be a bit of a homebody, especially because my closest friends live far away.
