What got you into cosplay?
I love dressing up, so it was like halloween all year! My friend Chrissy, really jump started it for me, when she made costumes for my friend Jenn and I to wear at Anime Iowa 2002. After that I was hooked.
What was your first costume and why?
Chii from Chobits. She was super cute, and she had a twin whom Jenn dressed up as with me. Back then she wasn't as over done as she is now.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Currently it is my Vanessa of King of Fighters costume. It's extremely comfortable, and it was really inexpensive!
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
yeah there is always something. I think right now.. the only one that is my dream costume that will take me ages to make and some help, is nana's hardsuit from Bubblegum Crisis 2040. I'd also like to make kos-mos's costume. She is my absolute fave anime/game character evar!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Probably the first cosplay I ever did. Jenn and I ran around annoying people by yelling chii constantly. It was amusing, we are well known at that con only because of that.
Do you participate in masquerades?
sometimes, but not often. I only genereally participate when I have something worth showing..
What was your best masquerade experience?
I wasn't actually in it, I was helping run it. It was at Anime Central 2004. My friends won Best of show group and best of show individual. I was really proud of them :D
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
yes, I won an award of excellence at anime detour for my etna costume. I got 4th place at No Brand Con for a costume that isn't even finnished. I really don't think I should have gotten anything there, but oh well.
Tell us a little about yourself
I graduated the Commercial Art program at Dmacc last year. I am currently employed at Best Buy, which is pretty fun! I really enjoy the people I work with, it's just hard to get weekends off very often..
