What got you into cosplay?
I saw pictures online and thought it'd be fun to do. Its been an interesting time thus far.
What was your first costume and why?
Yuna, because I really liked her characterization throughout the game. Plus, I thought the ending to FFX was tragically perfect (I have a thing for bittersweet endings like that). But yeah, all around, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Either Summoner Yuna or Temari. They both turned out rather nice in my opinion. Although, I'd have to say I liked Yuna a bit better character wise. Temari was more of a whim I did for a group at the time, with my now boyfriend.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I don't know really. I think it'd be nice to have a really nice wedding Yuna costume. I've only seen one or two I really liked. Also Kraehe from Princess Tutu. Its been on my list far too long.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
No idea. I've had quite a few good experiences. In past years I've kinda forgotten what made cons so awesome the past year. Hopefully taking a break will bring back the fun.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Occasionally. Not too often though. I'm not really about winning awards.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Well, I guess AN 2005. That's really my only one.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Best Recreation and Best Fabric Painting at Anime North 2005 for Summoner Yuna.
Tell us a little about yourself
My name's Mandy, I'm 19 years old and living in Buffalo, NY. I'm very much into fashion and plan on pursuing some sort of fashion design or fashion merchandising degree during college, which I'm starting this fall. I currently work at Ann Taylor part time. I don't take cosplay very seriously, but I do enjoy making costumes every once in awhile.
