I like food and sleep. Sometimes when I'm awake and not stuffing my face, I cosplay. :B


PLEASE NOTE:

I am not a professional cosplayer. (wtf is that)
I do not use patterns.
I make all my own costumes entirely unless otherwise specified.
I do not accept requests or commissions.
I do not make costumes for others, except for close friends.
I get all my fabric from either fabric district in LA, or Joann's and Yardage town.
I may make small costume accessories and props, but these I will sell on cosplay.com marketplace; I do not have a commissions store or a website making commissions.

If someone uses my name Chuwei or Shuura and claims to offer costume or wig commissions using links to my cosplay.com gallery, they are not me and are most likely trying to scam you.

The email I use for cosplay and convention purposes is shuura [@] gmail [.] com. Please beware if any group or entity or individual using my name contacts you using means other than this particular email account.

If you would like to ask me about questions regarding certain costumes, I will try my best to answer, but it may take a few days to respond.

I cannot, however, baby you and hold your hand through the entire process and explain to you in detail exactly "step by step" what I did to make the entire costume from start to finish. I try my best to include as many of those details as I can in my costume entries.

I cannot teach you how to sew, I barely know how to myself.

I expect that if you have a question, that you already know the basics of sewing and costuming. I greatly prefer that you show that you have done your own research regarding a costume rather than just contact me for very basic questions that can be answered with a quick google search.

If you ask me for extremely fundamental or overly general questions such as "how do you make a rinali cosutme" or "where do you find reference pictures" I will either ignore you or give you a blatantly thoughtless and general response like "very carefully" or "read the manga". Do your own homework; I not your labor machine and I am not your mom. If I were, I would beat you with a wooden plank for being so inconsiderate and selfish and expecting other people to do all the work for you when you have done no work yourself. (oh, the joys of asian upbringing).

WHAT I *CAN* DO

I can try my best to answer questions on specific details of costumes, such as "where did you get your buttons" or "How did you get your natural hair to look like Rinari's hairstyle?"

I will try my best to answer any questions on wig styling.

I will try my best to answer questions you may have on materials I used for my cosplays.

I will be happy to answer questions on specific make-up.

What got you into cosplay?
Yvonne, we were bored, and Japanese cosplayers were like whoa.
What was your first costume and why?
Kamizuki Izumo [NARUTO] - Boredom and doing closet cosplay! Looking back I realize my first cosplay was a crossplay. LOL. We still keep the old photos from this for the LOLZ.
What is your favorite costume and why?
It used to be Anko from NARUTO, because it was relatively easy to make and fairly recognizable. Not to mention I got to chomp on dango all day and have the unspoken right to molest any other character in the series. :D Although I think I got cavities from that. :C ....................................................................... Right now my favorite costume is probably Silent Hill Nurses because apparently I get a sick kick out of scaring the shit out of people and making grown men dressed in Naruto ninja outifts shriek like little girly girls :D
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Rose from Legend of Dragoon (Human Form) / Xiang Hua from Soul Calibur III / Zheng Ji from Dynasty Warriors 6 / ...Lulu from FFX but since I'm such a disgustingly perfectionist perfectionist I'd probably never do it unless I decided to get super implants. So far, I don't see that happening. :U
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Comiket (Comic Market) 65, at Tokyo big Site on 12.28.2003, because it was my first time going to a convention (and it was a huuuuuuge one) and first times are always memorable. Plus, can I say doujinshi heaven plzzz.
Do you participate in masquerades?
As part of the audience! :D I don't like being on stage. I'd rather do behind-the-scenes work or be a random stage ninja.
