What got you into cosplay?
I went with a friend to my first anime con and couldn't stop staring at all the fabulous costumes. It was only natural that the next one I went to, I was in costume as well! :)
What was your first costume and why?
My first 'real' costume was my Arwen Chase dress. I desperately wanted to make it for the midnight premiere of Return of the King, but I got sick and so it had to be put on hold. So I made it in my little dorm room, on a mini $20 sewing machine that broke 5 hours before the party I needed it for... lol my luck! I learned a lot about trying something too advanced for my sewing skills!
What is your favorite costume and why?
Hmmm... I'd say right now, it's my Periwinkle Chii. I just love feeling so super frilly and girly, which is completely the opposite of who I am most of the time!
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
That would be my Catherina that is currently in the works.... actually, my dream would be to make all the costumes from Trinity Blood... I must have a thing for nuns with guns ;) Otherwise, there is this Lord of the Rings one I've had in my head for a while... someday it'll come to fruition.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not yet... if I did, it would be just a walk on. I'm not much for intentionally making a fool of myself ;)

Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently working on a Master's Degree in Library and Information Sciences with emphasis on Youth Services. In other words, I plan to be a High School Librarian... the kind that heads up the anime/manga club ;)
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I've found that the hardest thing to do is to explain what the hell you do at conventions to non-geeks. "So.. you dress up? Like a Trekkie?" "Well... I guess you could put it that way..." I guess Genshiken will have to sum it up for me... "The allure of cosplay? I haven't given much thought to it, but... if anything, it's like floating 3 mm off th ground... Or your body temperature going up about 3 degrees... that's the kind of feeling it gives you..."

Chii, Rosette Christopher, Chrno, Yuuko, Luna Lovegood, Yomiko Readman, Negi, Himeno (Pretear), Nodoka (Negima), Reverie (Erementar Gerad, Rio (Spiral)... basically if Greg Ayres or Monica Rial have done the dub, I'm in love!
