What got you into cosplay?
I got into cosplay through my love of Halloween, anime, and manga.
What was your first costume and why?
Sango from InuYasha, kimono outfit with Hiraikotsu.
I picked this character because of her image of an independent and powerful young lady. The outfit was mainly because it is less common to be done and I didn't know where to start with making any armor.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favorite costume probably would be my first costume, as it was the one I put the most work into and it being the first.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I don't have a particular costume in mind, but I would like it to challenge me and make me feel wonderful when I wear it.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
My first cosplay competition and all the minor chaos that ensued.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I do participate in anime convention masquerades when I can, but I'm only a novice at this point.
What was your best masquerade experience?
My first when the judges took the time to personally complement my Hiraikotsu from my Sango costume.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I haven't won any awards yet. I do it more for the fun of dressing up and acting like one of my favorite anime or manga characters.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a recent college graduate. I'm in my first job, being an Assistant English Teacher in a few high schools in Japan. I have various hobbies. I like to keep creative, but I just don't usually have the money to go too in depth with any of them.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Can anyone recommend to me books or other media/links that could help teach me more about costuming and in particular pattern making/adjusting.
