What got you into cosplay?
The beautiful art of clamp made me want to make my first costume. I did not realize at the time that it was 'cosplay'
Later on, when I started going to anime conventions, cosplay became a much larger role in my life.
What was your first costume and why?
Freya, from chobits
I LOVED the outfit she was wearing. So I made it for halloween when I was 13.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Wha... I have to choose just one!?!
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have a couple. One is Sister Paula from Trinity Blood, her armor variant. I would like to get into better shape before attempting it.
The other is an artwork piece by clamp for their chobits series of Chii. It's a hard to find artwork. I want to improve my sewing skills and get better equipment before pursuing that one.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
There are a couple.
One would be my Sailor Pluto. It felt so good to have so many people tell me how much like the character I looked and the I looked great in that tight little outfit! Also, I made my friend's Sailor Mars. It was a crossplay. We were at the photo booth at a convention and taking pictures when someone yelled: "Whoa! Sailor Mars is a DUDE!" --we still laugh at that story now.
Another would be when I was mistaken for a guy while in my Kouga cosplay even while talking with the person for 5 whole minutes!
Do you participate in masquerades?
I do not. I just don't feel like I can really compete... though I entered the craftsmanship for the first time!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Queen and King of the Masquerade @ Anime Banzai (which the do instead of the hall cosplay award)
Judge's award @ Anime Banzai 2010
