About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
My friend Whitney, as well as my love of games/anime combined with my love of being a dork and dressing up.
What was your first costume and why?
Naked Snake from Metal Gear Solid 3. ...because Snake is awesome.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Naked Snake from Metal Gear Solid 3. ...because Snake is awesome.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Bar none, I'd love to make the Hunter's promo costume from Hellgate: London. The game wasn't the greatest, but heck if that costume didn't get me excited and make me oggle the cool details on it.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
ACen '09 all around was pretty cool, but I have to side with C2E2 in March of 2010. We had a small group(I'm not a fan of going out with a huge group of people), and it was less about anime and more about graphic novels, which I like much more. One of my favorite things was seeing all of the awesome artists there was very cool. Although winning a few awards for C2E2's Masquerade in 2011 was pretty sweet.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not consistently, though I've been considering it more and more as time progresses.
What was your best masquerade experience?
C2E2 2011. My friends Nick and Dale, as well as myself, rocked the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Gulag mission and crossed it over with an Old Spice parody. It worked pretty well, and people loved it. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJMui-2LSfM
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Ikasucon '09 Found Object: Metal Gear Solid 3 group C2E2 '11: Judge's Award and (Honestly, I can't remember what we officially got the other award for): Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 group
Tell us a little about yourself
I graduated with a degree in Film and Video with a concentration in Computer Animation at Columbia College in Chicago. I currently work at CBS 58 in Milwaukee, WI doing the graphics for the nightly news. Yes, my stuff is on television, which is kinda cool. In my spare time I love to draw, craft, animate, and cook. Yup. Also the internet.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Check out my website for breakdowns on all of my cosplay props, and, by all means, feel free to contact me about commissions, or even if you want to build it yourself, I'd be more than happy to provide tips and advice to supplement my blog, and answer any questions you may have.
