What got you into cosplay?
At Anime Expo 2000, I was stunned. I thought that cosplay made up a small percentage of the con population. I decided to get into cosplay because I love dressing up because I'm a girly girl like that, yo.
What was your first costume and why?
1987 - Snow White...okay, that was when I was smaller! Okay, so that was Halloween back in the day. For real this time...Utena Tenjou. It was a commission from Chloe Braga. At the time, she was my favorite anime female, and my good friend was planning an Anthy costume.
What is your favorite costume and why?
In the beginning, I really liked Nadeshiko. It was a present from my mom for my "Das Butt" (aka 18th Birthday Party) at AX02. My current favorites at the moment include Michael Corleone, Orihime Soletta, Karen Kasumi, and Fujiko Mine.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I'd like to redo Koto Aoki (White Waltz). At AX01, I just showed up in a dress that looked like Koto's ballgown. I wanna do it for real this time around.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Anytime I'm in Yomiko Readman. It's cool when people pass by and say, "Zaaa paypah..."
Yet, I don't think anything tops July 4, 2003. He was in Aoki. I was in Karen. It was after the AX ballroom dance. Under the fireworks, we shared our first kiss as an official couple. I love you, Tom. ^^
Do you participate in masquerades?
I tend to do so at smaller cons. It's all for fun, that's what it should be about...at least for my standards. Competition is the last thing on my mind.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Tales of Anime 2004. It was like the academic decathalon of masquerades (at least for our group). We had the experience super cool seamstress, the newbie, and the two found item people who do major adjustments. We end up winning best group.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I'm not the competitive type of cosplayer. I really don't care much for awards. Cosplay is all about the fun and memories.
Oh! But I did get the Pimp Daddy Award with IPlay and AGSMA at AniMagic2000 for the Pokemon skit we did.
Then not too long ago, Traveling Valentine scored third place at Recca Con 03.
Then Traveling Valentine and Friends won best group at Tales of Anime 04.
Tell us a little about yourself
I love musical theatre, for a while I've been into ballroom/swing dancing, I like to make amvs, I'm working on some amateur type fandubs. Currently in an Electronic Arts major at San Francisco State.

I like flowers.
