About Me / Q&A
What got you into cosplay?
My lovely darling, Akaisha! I've always been crafty. Love to make things with my hands. It was Akaisha who introduced me to anime, Japanese culture, cosplay. And that's how it's been ever since.
What was your first costume and why?
Mello from Death Note from Death Note was my first cosplay. Yes, my first cosplay was a crossplay. At the time, I had watched very little of the show and didn't know very much about the character. But that didn't matter because I liked the design. And his pretty burned face. He's such a bitchy character and I hate that but I love crossplaying him.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I love all of costumes! But the funnest would have to be swimsuit May from Guilty Gear. I get to run around a con in next to nothing! In November! What's not to like about that? Plus, I have a giant anchor on butt.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have so many costumes that I want to make. The one I am looking forward to the most is Harley Quinn from the Batman series. She's just so bubbly and crazy and silly. And she has a bunch of cool toys!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Kinda sad that my most memorable experience is a bad one. I hadn't had any real sleep in a few days so I was dead tired. I was cutting some foam with a utility knife for an armor project. The knife slipped and I cut off the pad of my left ring finger. It bled really badly for like 15 minutes. Had to go to the ER and get all bandaged up. But right after I got out, I went back and finished the project I was working on.
Do you participate in masquerades?
When I can, I like to. It's too much fun to pass up! Get to meet all these cool people and talk to them while yer waiting in the green room.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yeah, but I never remember what they are.
Tell us a little about yourself
Right now, I'm finishing up my associates degree in art. When I'm not making cosplays, I'm either making art or making costumes for LARP.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I like shiny things, and squirrels, and math, and yarn, and noodles.
