What got you into cosplay?
I was going to Anime Central 2000, and someone told me people wore costumes. It all went straight to hell from there.
What was your first costume and why?
Aerith Gainsborough from "Final Fantasy VII," because it seemed easy at the time. It wasn't.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Olivie Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist. Most people don't recognize it, but I worked really hard on that costume, and I adore the character so much.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Sophia Forrester's orange gown from Last Exile.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
At A-Kon 2006, I shared a van from the airport to the hotel with a lady attending a preachers' wives convention. She told me all about her job in her parish, etc., and then asked what I was in Texas for. Well, I was essentially in Texas to make jokes about incest and mpregs onstage in front of thousands of people while dressed up as a Japanese cartoon character. Ahahahaha... haa. I told her I was in town for "an animation thing."
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes. I've done walk-ons. I also do skits with Ganimyde, Seventh Sin, Michimoro, or some combination thereof. XD;
What was your best masquerade experience?
AnimeIowa 2006 was really fun and challenging. I fell asleep in the green room for about an hour, so onstage, I was all "lol, what?" And there were no microphones, but the entire audience just shut up as soon as we started talking. Until it was time to laugh. :D Thank you for laughing. And then we had to run madly to the panel we were hosting, and got lost in the middle of Cedar Rapids in cosplay at night.

Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a law student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I like to read manga, and I raise hermit crabs and rats. I'm also a card-carrying member of CosFu.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
If it weren't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college.
