About Me / Q&A
What got you into cosplay?
I think it was a natural progression of things. I've been sewing since I was a young kid, and had fancy-dress parties for my birthday as often as I could convince my parents to let me.
I would love to have a job in the film/theatre industry working in costuming.
What was your first costume and why?
I'd have to say Columbia from Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was the first costume I went really all-out on, and spent hours and hours and hours on it. I wore it to the stage production in Sydney.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Columbia's pretty up there on the list, she's a lot of fun, very energetic and flirty. Lilith is bad-ass too..
I love my stormtrooper armour, because it always turns heads even at a convention.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Haaaaaa. Just one? Seriously? I'm never going to let anyone see my full list of costumes I want to do, because I'd probably be carted off to an asylum.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Not mine, as such. But my 2.5 year old daughter got her photo with Alan Tudyk while she was dressed as Kaylee. Made my entire convention!
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a work-from-home Mum with a little girl. I'm also a member of the 501st.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I'm looking forward to seeing cosplay in Australia grow into something that can boast a competitive level against other countries. I think we have a long way to go yet. But, ONWARD!
