What got you into cosplay?
The first con I ever went to blew me away. I thought that people only dressed up for Trek cons, but the idea of dressing up for anime cons was strangly appealing.
What was your first costume and why?
I tried a "thrown together" costume at CNAnime 2002, dressed as Pan from DBGT. It seemed simple enough. Then, at Anime North 2003, I tried an actual "effort-made" costume, dressed as Anthy Himemiya.
What is your favorite costume and why?
The last costume I did was Oruha from Clover. I love it best so far because not only is it very accurate, it's very pretty. And the wings were a nice add-on.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I want to make a highly complex costume, like something from a Clamp series. I'm also planning to make Rosette Christopher's costume next.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
The Oruha costume carries good memories. Especially those moments when I couldn't get through doors 'cause the wings were too wide. XD
Do you participate in masquerades?
I participated in Toronto Paradise Comicon in 2006 wearing my Lolita inspired maid-like outfit. That's the only real experience I have. I plan to participate in future masquerades.
What was your best masquerade experience?
The only one so far is at the Comicon in Toronto. There weren't too many other cosplayers, so I felt kinda special.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I won first place in the Novice category in the Toronto Comicon.
Tell us a little about yourself
I love drawing anime. I also love sewing, designing outfits, rock music, sci-fi/fantasy shows and movies, and browsing the internet. I recently graduated from George Brown's Fashion Design and Techniques program, so I'm all revv'd up to use the skills I learned to make the best damn cosplays ever! :D
