What got you into cosplay?
Naruto, mostly. And my friends. To me, cosplay isn't about being popular, it's about paying homage to the characters and series I love.
What was your first costume and why?
Umino Iruka from Naruto. A friend and I were big KakaIru fans at the time, and while she bought her's I was DETERMINED to make mine. It was awful. :D No pictures survive of it today...it's still hanging in the back of my closet though, as a remembrance of how far I've come.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Currently? My Haruno Sakura costume from Naruto. That costume was a lot of firsts for me (ugh zippers), but Sakura is a character I connect it with very much. She's angry and picky and too smart for her own good, but she loves very deeply and has the potential to over look people's faults. They're characteristics I'd like to have. :3
Also, the boots make my legs feel sexy. XD
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Several! I'd love to cosplay Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed, Euphemia from Code Geass, Toph from Avatar The Last Airbender, Yuna from FFX, and Sora from Kingdom Hearts II.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
When I was Sakura at ACen '07. Tons of adorable Narutos, and one very happily glomped me. I'd never been glomped! It was an amazingly fun weekend.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Anime Detour 06? I believe. We won a Judges Choice Award for our skit "Ninjas in Season". Kakashi tackled Iruka on stage. :D
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
No, but I don't usually submit them for judging.
Tell us a little about yourself
Currently trying to complete my Veterinarian Technology degree. I work full time as a Pharmacy Technician, and have three beautiful pet ratties. :3 When I'm not reading manga (which is sadly quite frequnetly), I'm listening to music because music is my LIFE. I also love my car (a Scion xD) more than is healthy...
