What got you into cosplay?
It all began with my cousins getting me and my sister into the Japanesse hiratage through animes, books, games (RPGs), and antiques ever since we were little. We all together shared our fascination for Japan, with one day coming across an event we researched about; " Cosplaying". One of my cousins first discovered this long ago (90's), and for many years we were all curious to see what anime conventions were like. I always had the thought stuck in the back of my head, but with my sister encouraging me to give it a shot at the SacAnime'09; I've loved the concept of it since.
What was your first costume and why?
Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil series. My first convention had the voice overs of Chris (From RE5+), Sheva, Leon (From RE4) and Claire signing autographs and answering Q's. Figured it would be a simple enough costume to start off on, seeing how I already had everything he wore especially.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Squall Leonhart, his outfits the most cool to roleplay in. Additionally he's my favorite FF character, with FF being my favorite RPG of all time. Not to mention his franchise is one of the most common in conventions, I never fail to see at least five or more others cosplaying as characters from the series everytime.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I always thought anyone doing Fierce Deity Link would be epic. I've still yet to this day to come across a FDL cosplayer. Link use to be my favorite character for a long time. But it would have to be perfected; that would be a dream come true for me. UPDATE (11-15-2013): Fortunately I've now began work on him myself and shall debut the cosplay next summer at the SacAnime, really looking forward to this!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Personally I'm goanna have to say I enjoyed my very first cosplay as Wesker at the SacAnime'09 the most. (Never got so many hugs in one day either lol) It was overall a very fresh and fun start, and has helped me brainstorm greater ideas since.
Do you participate in masquerades?
As of September 2013, I'm very excited to announce I infact will be doing my first ever masquerade with a good friend of mine live on stage at the next summer SacAnime infront of nearly a 1000 people. Will be doing a hilarious skit from the Game Grumps, where my friend is JonTron and I Egoraptor.
Tell us a little about yourself
Overall I'm best for being: quiet, pretty laid back, nice and well-organized. I go to cons to hang out with my friendly peeps, keep up to date with what's new/popular and be apart with all the fun.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
To be honest, cosplay is different for everyone. One thing I can say every cosplayer has in common though with there viewpoints is to just have fun, or at least that's mine as well. With that being said, I'm the kind that doesn't push (stress) myself to go way over the top with every outfit I assemble, but rather just works with what I end up with and be thankful for it.
