What got you into cosplay?
My friends at the time got me into anime and stuff and were like "DUDE, come to Fanime with us," so I did and it really changed me a lot. I got really into making costumes and costume design and sewing and all that creative stuff that I never though I would be good at.
And since I'm not friends with them anymore I can get my new friends into it :D
What was your first costume and why?
I had three, actually. They were Rinoa, Judy Nails, and Dist [Tales of the Abyss]. We were doing an FF skit and Rinoa is my favorite FF girl. And Dist was for a photoshoot to go with my friend's Tear. I hate that damn costume...it was so uncomfortable lol. And I forget why I wanted to do Judy Nails. Epic fail that was haha.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Definitely Morrigan <3 Morrigan is my favorite character ever, bar none, and Dragon Age is definitely on my top 5 of favorite games. And I've met a TON of awesome people who are also Dragon Age fans through photos of my costume and at conventions.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Plenty of really complicated stuff, of course. But actually, I really want to cosplay Wonder Woman. My sister loved Wonder Woman and I dunno, I feel like that would make her happy if she could see it :D
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
When I was Navi, people yelled "Hey! Listen!" At me and my bf who was Link. Needless to say, it was extremely irritating and I felt I didn't have to say it myself, everyone else did it for me. And people were like "OOOOOOOOH PRETTY" to my corset and wanted to touch it and it was like DUDE wtf?
Do you participate in masquerades?
Only once so far. Skit #42 from Fanime ("Group Therapy").
What was your best masquerade experience?
To be honest, it wasn't that great of an experience. I like performing, but we hadn't practiced and there was just too much drama. I'd love to do it again but actually have time to practice beforehand and stuff.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
No. And I don't care if I never do. It's a hobby, not a lifestyle, I think some people forget that and go psycho in a bad way over it.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a college student, going to community college, waiting to transfer to art school to do 3D Animation/Modeling and Game Design with my amazing boyfriend (who I got into cosplaying :P) and I work at Gamestop. I'm mostly into video games, but I like anime and mangas too. I like doing anything creative :D
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I like being able to help people so if you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer and give you any help if I can.
My favorite anime
Ouran High School Host Club
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
Tales of the Abyss [anime]
My favorite game(s)
I'm more into gaming than anything else (I'm on Playfire as Rexluna for a more extensive game list xD)
All the Ace Attorney games
Persona 3, 4 [pretty much just the Shin Megami Tensei Series...I'll always like it]
Silent Hill 2 thru Shattered Memories, though 2 is the best
Final Fantasy VIII
Kingdom Hearts (all)
Tales of the Abyss
Tales of Vesperia
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I&II
Dead or Alive [Yes, even the volleyball ones :P]
Tomb Raider [Most of them]
Dragon Age Origins
Plenty of others :D
My favorite book(s)
Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extras
House of Night Series
Wicked Lovely, Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity
Harry Potter Series
A Series of Unfortunate Events
Artemis Fowl Series
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Series
I have read the Twilight series and after waiting for a decent writing structure and character development, I decided it was crap and that sparkly vampires are weird as hell. Not to mention that once it got so big and everyone had to make a big deal about the movie and the casting had to suck, I decided I really could care less.
My favorite movies(s)
Star Wars, Lord of the Rings
Some other awesome funny movies, but yeah. Need I really say more?
