What got you into cosplay?
I like anime and video games, and have been attending anime conventions since I was in high school. Seeing cosplayers who portray my favorite characters, have a blast working on and wearing their costumes, and put their heart into making intricate costumes encouraged me to start cosplaying.
What was your first costume and why?
Kuchiki Rukia of Bleach. I wanted to cosplay with a group of friends and was looking for a character that didn't have an insanely detailed costume... and found Rukia! The funny thing is that I relate to her character because she's short with a good mix of seriousness & silliness. Although I stopped following the series somewhere at the Bounto/Bount arc, I still appreciate the title and the variety of characters ^_^
What is your favorite costume and why?
Ling Xiaoyu of Tekken 5 (Secret Panda suit) because it's the first costume that I actually worked on from scratch. It's such a rewarding experience... even if only 5 people recognize it.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
GIANT CACTUAR!!! Haha, I'm totally kidding! I wanted to cosplay as Siren or Shiva from FF8... or something to that extent, but I can't pull it off lol =p
Seriously though, I have Ibuki from Street Fighter, Sawa-chan from K-On! and Misao from Rurouni Kenshin in my list :)
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
All of them are, actually! Here's a couple:
E-Games Dom1nation (Philippines) - My first cosplay ever. I got oh-so-nervous that when I wore my Rukia glove on stage, my fingers didn't go through the proper holes. That was rather embarrassing ><
Anime Expo 09 (LA, Cali) - My first attempt to cosplay in the US. Despite having a bad (horrendous!) hair day, people recognized my character and took pics XD
