What was your first costume and why?
Edward Wong Hao Pepelu Tivrusky IV from Cowboy Bebop for Connecticon way back in 04 when it was still at UHart. I threw it together pretty quickly, but I ended up having a lot of fun running around artists' alley and getting my butt kicked at SSBM.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Integra Hellsing. She fits my personality to a tee, and the variations on her outfit are so versatile and fit my style as well. Though I'm not one for creative license on cosplays, I like being a cold, commanding bitch while still remaining alluring and attractive. The development of my Integra costumes lead me to learn a lot about the cosplaying trade, like wig styling, tailoring and ironing. I only hope that the more I wear this costume the more I'll fall in love with Integra's power and grace.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a student at Carnegie Mellon University, and part of an interdisciplanary program studying costume and lighting design, as well as a second major in Psychology. I have some of the most renowned designers at my side every day, and I couldn't be more happy to be under their guidance.
Now that I'm a sleepless and poor college student, I haven't thought about cosplay for quite some time, but I hope that with the skills I acquire in theatrical costuming I can really bring my craft to the next level and start going back to conventions.
