What got you into cosplay?
Wanting to be a character I loved? LOL~ I don't know. I loved anime and I knew about cosplay... and I was going to my first convention back in 2001, so I cosplayed. Funny enough, not a lot of people were cosplaying back then, so even though my costume wasn't elaborate or very good, it still got a lot of attention. I guess I also got addicted to that attention as well. XD
What was your first costume and why?
Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. :D I had the hair, it was an easy enough outfit, and I absolutely ADORED Duo. XD Never mind that it was really, really hot and turtleneck plus leather jacket REALLY didn't go along with that weather, LOL. Still had a lot of fun and I loved it! :D
What is your favorite costume and why?
LELOUCH VI BRITANNIA COMMANDS YOU~~
...Honestly, if his outfits aren't epic enough for you, then the dramatic poses and hand gestures along with his epic WIN, Geass, and ambivalent nature really should amaze you to death.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Shirou Kamui from X. Well, yeah, I've cosplayed a few of his outfits already, but CLAMP likes to step up their challenge level for cosplayers, yanno? There's this one specific outfit with about twenty million belts and buckles that I've been eying for the past while.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
...Suzumiya Haruhi two years ago when I was talking with other cosplayers... there was someone there who jokingly decided they would attack God, and Aizen stepped in with "divine intervention!" XD
Do you participate in masquerades?
Masquerades are dances for me, so yes. XD As for cosplay contests, though, I've only ever participated in two and that was at the prompting of my friends. Came out of both with awards, so maybe I'd do it again... but I tend to stay away from those because I'm not exactly amazing in my cosplays... mediocre at best.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Like I said, only two. XD; I don't like attention and stages, actually, so the funny thing is I was completely blind during both of those experiences, haha.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Tsukino-Con, my group got runner-up for Best in Show for our Vocaloid: Imitation Black outfits.
Cos & Effect 2011, Audience Favourite and Best in Sci-Fi/Fantasy for the Demon Souls outfits we did.
Tell us a little about yourself
Honestly, I'm more of a writer than anything else, I'd say. I read many, many hours each day and take a while to try and write things as well. I am also very active when it comes to online text-based roleplays.
I'm pretty involved in the Vancouver anime community... part of TeamGLOMP, which is a video group, and GODproject, which is a cosplay group. :P
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I'm pretty damned spoiled, have the memory span of a goldfish, and have I mentioned that I read A LOT?
My favorite anime
Fullmetal Alchemist! X/1999, Code Geass, D.Gray-Man, Kuroshitsuji, Hikaru no Go, 1/2 Prince, Demon Diary, Trigun, Fruits Basket, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, xxxHOLiC, Miyazaki films... give me anything thought provoking and/or controversial!
My favorite game(s)
SILENT HILL. FINAL FANTASY XIII. Loads of indie horror games. But otherwise when it comes to games, I watch people play. :P
My favorite book(s)
Same as my anime list, haha! Anything thought provoking and/or controversial. Very favourite has to be a tie between Sphere and Timeline both by Michael Crichton. Also love works by Anne Rice, Stephen King, Douglas Adams, Dean Koontz. Lots more, but I just can't remember them right now.
My favorite character(s)
I'm such a Hufflepuff, I love characters that are optimistic and determined. BUT. For some reason, my all time favourite character just isn't the fluffy good guy that I usually love... Lelouch vi Britannia is one of the most ambiguous characters in anime, and I absolutely love him. Each move and motive of his can be interpenetrated in so many different ways... it's amazing.
My favorite movies(s)
What Dreams May Come. Lord of the Rings trilogy. Equilibrium. Matrix (first one). Pirates of the Caribbean (first one). Rent. Into the Woods. Monty Python movies (all). My Sassy Girl. V for Vendetta. Watchmen. Avatar. Serenity.
