What got you into cosplay?
A class project....oh no wait, my very first cosplay was in 5th grade actually! For a Haloween costume since we were low on money and had to make our own that year. However, later, in our speech class we had to do a lip synch. I originally dreaded the project, but when I looked at it in a new light and learned a way to have fun with it(that included getting a costume for Kyo(Dir en Grey)) it became a hobby inventing assignment.
What was your first costume and why?
Yuji from Tenchi Muyo. I'm not entirely sure why, I just really liked that character at that time. We didn't have the money to buy brand new costumes, so my last step mother had to make them that year and it really opened the door to possibility. Regretably, I know of no existing pictures of it.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Though I love my Kurai since she was my first I love Gambler Rikku. She always goes over well at cons and is so much fun to wear! Takes a little bravery though XD
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Oh there's a lot. LOL.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes, when I can.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Nebraskon 2006. I used it as a soapbox which was probably the biggest mistake of my life. I got told off my the judges, but the outfit I entered my sister in took 2nd anyway. What was it Steve Benet said.. "at least she can put her money where her mouth is"? Lol.
