What got you into cosplay?
I first heard about it when I looked at sailor mo's homepage, looking on how to make a sailor moon costume for fun (I've never finished it) Then, I found out about AMA4, here in VA, and so then I just knew I should make a costume. After actually going to the con, and seeing what cosplay was all about, I am now hooked for the rest of my life!
What was your first costume and why?
The Madison/Tomoyo Cardcaptors outfit I wore at AMA. My sister and I wanted to match, and so originally we were going to be Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibimoon, but our time was running short, so we scrapped the plan. We had 2 white skirts though, so I thought we could do the Cardcaptors winter school uniform, but we had less than a week left, and so we decided on the PE uniform - simple and comfy. Mom put the pieces all together the night before, and viola!
What is your favorite costume and why?
To date, that has to be my Poe Merchant costume. He was just awesome to cosplay as, and I should really wear it again. No one could see my face, which was really funny, but it was so unique, and a lot of people wanted a picture, or a hug, or a conversation with the Poe master. None of my other costumes got such a reaction, so it was kind of surprising. So now I'm hooked on making costumes with masks, and really bizarre ones (even though my Naruto costumes in the works are pretty popular ones, I'm trying really hard to make them above-average.) I guess this costume raised the bar for me.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Peh! Too many! I still want to make a lot of my old costume ideas, but... wow. Not enough time. If I were pressed, Twilight Princess Zelda, Midna - with working hand/hair thingy, No Face... in addition to finishing Temari and making my awesome Akatsuki coat!!! OH, and the outfit Sakura wore in this poster... the one that comes with the anime book... SO FREAKIN SWEET!
(NOW, I'm working on The Best Envy Cosplay Ever, and Franziska von Karma from Phoenix Wright.)
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Getting treated perfectly normally at the con, and then getting strange looks from the lady at Arbees. ^_^ And Wendy's. And the parking deck people. Watching my first Cosplay and being astounded. Getting my first costume-related hug - a girl in a green wig in the hall costume contest was all like "Ohmigosh! I love the Poe Guy! Can I give you a hug?" and I was like "Sure?" The start of an interesting day.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I want to!!! Damn not being able to get a skit organized...
What was your best masquerade experience?
None. T.T weep.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Nope. They didn't like Mr. Poe Man for Hall Costume because the hood was bought, and the costume itself was kind of simple. But it had to be! He's poor! I thought my accessories were cool... but there were other people more deserving. You learn from your mistakes. Next time, I'll rock!
Tell us a little about yourself
THIS IS OLD INFO FROM HERE ON DOWN....
I'm going to art school in the fall - college!! Wah!! - which was a really big decision, even though it was pretty obvious I should go there. I still live with my family (mom, dad, sister, dog, hamster) who are loving, but at times frustrating. Mom helps a lot with the costumes, since she is great at sewing, and always gives advice on props & stuff I'm making. She also takes great pictures, so she has taken most of the one's I'll put up on here -.-; My sister and I come up with a lot of ideas together, which I hope will SOMEDAY turn into a skit.
I have no job, but I need one. Anime (and cosplay) is an expensive hobby.
My hobbies? Limitless! I play the flute, draw manga and "blueprints" for my costumes, crochet, generally do lots of oddball crafty things, watch TV, read manga and magazines, surf the internet, play lots of games (though not as many as my sister), dabble in animation, make AMV's, Shrinky Dinks, listen to music. I like to make dolls, and hope to finish a Super Dollfie scale ball jointed doll someday. Yeah. And making up goofy stories with my sister. I have so many ideas I had to make a spreadsheet to keep up - and it still doesn't have all of them on it!
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I really hope being an art student will be liberating - not change me. My mom is teaching me how to sew by machine... right now, I am props master. I hate being cooped up inside. I'm obsessive compulsive, which leads to insane organizational skills, and obsessions with shows, projects, etc. I make it work for me. I've only ever been to AMA and I will pester my family into going to another con this year if it's the last thing I do. I am crazy as a loon! I love it when my creative efforts make people happy - or shocked! I love it how cons give us this stage for cosplayers to act upon.

Ma otha faves - Naruto! Lee! Temari! Tenten, Hinata, Kiba, Shino, HAYATE!
My favorite movies(s)
I love comedies, old movies, and horror flicks. Anything with meaning and emotion... V for Vendetta and Spirited Away are my all time favorites. Taxi Driver! Oooh, and Fight Club! The Birds I love, anything by Hitchcock is awesome. The Matrix, the original. The Breakfast Club. Miyazaki movies blow me away - Kiki's Delivery Service was my first, and I still love it. And man, Alice in Wonderland has to be the craziest Disney movie of all! Ones that I still hold dear (from a long time ago) are Pixar movies like Finding Nemo, Lilo & Stitch, the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast.
My favorite actors/actresses
This is the one thing that always gets me. If you mean voice actors, I can never figure out their names (dang speedy credits >.<) I applaud, however, the English casts for Fruits Basket and Naruto - they really did a good job (I know I'll get slapped for that one, but I truly think so). Live action actors, I can never pick...
Today I'm picking...
BRUCE LEE!!! Tha best kung fu masta eva!!! He so totally completely rocks!!!!
...and Johnny Depp, because he is a great actor - really gets in character... and... he's hot. I hate him when he gets all "glamour shots" for magazines, though. It's kind of sickening.
Natalie Portman. She is also really awesome - she shaved her head for a part, and not many other (female) celebs would do that. Come to think of it, she's had to endure a lot of stuff with her hair... (thinks of Star Wars) And anyone who can work with that obnoxious Vader kid for two movies straight - and act like they love him - gets my props.
