About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
While waiting to try out for our high school's fall play, a junior named Megan O. had a bunch of pokemon themed buttons on her purse. She said she got them from Anime Central's Artist Alley and later introduced me to the world of anime conventions. My first visit to ACen left me starstruck and inspired to start sewing.
What was your first costume and why?
Because the second generation of pokemon was my favorite, Suicune was my very first costume. It took me about 3 months worth of weekends to hand sew the outfit together, but I enjoyed wearing it.
What is your favorite costume and why?
After 8 months of research and 4 months of sewing, I think Ho-oh sits at #1. It's my little masterpiece.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yellow riding her Doduo from Pocket Monsters Special. It's been on my to-do list for awhile now, but I have no idea where I'd store the materials in my little apartment.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Forming a 50+ person Rick Roll conga line at 4 am. Best ACen ever.
Do you participate in masquerades?
2 Formal craftsmanship competitions 2 Meet-up related cosplay competitions.
What was your best masquerade experience?
When Soycon surprised me with a best in show award. Decisions were made after the meet-up, so the award was mailed to my dorm in a nice frame. I was over the moon!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Ho-oh: Best craftsmanship - Kollision Con 2010 Best in show - SoyCon 3. SeeU: Judges choice - SoyCon 5. 3rd place - Skills USA 2007: Sewing (state championship)
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a busy college student, so sewing is my R&R on the weekends.
