What got you into cosplay?
I'd like to say Super Mario or Legend of Zelda, but it'd have to be Fruits Basket and Naruto. Those were my first true cosplays and Kyo was the cause of meeting a fellow cosplayer in a place I never would have guessed.
What was your first costume and why?
My first cosplay was Tenten from Naruto. I originally made it for "comicbook/superhero day" at my high school, and then edited it a bit for a really small get together that weekend. Although I'm not sure I could call her my first cosplay, since I went as Mario, Princess Peach, Amy Rose, and a few others even for Halloween even before I knew what "cosplay" was exactly. It wasn't all that popular(and still isn't) in my family.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favorite of mine? Or in general? 'Cause I have a favorite of my own cosplays and in general.
Mine: Kyoya Ohtori (OHSHC), because I don't have to really act all that much for him. As my Haruhi knows quite well. However, the one I find I have the most fun in of my own cosplays is Emil. No matter which version (Ratatosk Mode or not) he's still fun to cosplay.
General: Three of them. 1. Emil Castinger (ToS:KoR or ToS:DNW). Why? Despite the fact that some may think he's weak and completely stupid(at times I agree with them), he's still awesome. Not only do I freak out inside whenever I see someone cosplay him (since his cosplay is EVIL, I tell you. EVIL), but it's nice to see people who don't always cosplay well-known characters. 2. Richter Abend (ToS:KoR or ToS:DNW). I have yet to meet someone with enough courage(I apologize to all who think of Aster's mantra by saying courage in this context) to cosplay him in person, but he's simply awesome. More so than I think Emil is, even when in Ratatosk Mode. 3. Kratos Aurion (ToS). If you know who he is, most likely you know why he's one of my favorite cosplays. Not only do I find him awesome, but his overall personality and intentions are great too.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Too many to freakin' count! But I shall list some (I've typed a few already and has anyone else noticed most are Tales characters?):
---Emil Castangier (done, but not quite up to my standards yet)
---Kratos Aurion (Judgement and Regular)
---Aster (does anyone know if this poor boy has a last name???)
---Link (ocarina of time & skyward sword)
---Formal version of Emil's Knight of Ratatosk garb
See? It's a few...
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I have a few that tie:
--I was once walking in Wal-Mart as L, and I passed by this on woman and didn't really pay any mind until she asked "Is that L?" sounding a bit excited to my ears. When I told her I was her reply was "oh yeah!" (There was also a time I went there as Naruto and someone mistook me for Goku... >_<)
--Some friends and I were at a roller skating rink, and we all had a bit too much sugar (at least that is what I suspect) which resulted in me shouting across "I know what you're doing, dattebayo!" (obviously I was Naruto) the room to my friend cosplaying as Anise (ToA) whilst unknowingly standing a few feet away from an innocent bystander.
--At the time, I was cosplaying Emil Castangier. My friend and I were at a con when someone cosplaying Demyx came up to my friend randomly (as per usual at a convention) quite excitedly. (I'm pretty sure I'm quoting these right) "OMG, Richter, can I have a hug?" My friend shrugged and agreed. Demyx then turned to see me...Same question was directed towards me.
-- This one was later that same day. I has almost passed by these two young teenage guys when they asked if I was Emil from ToS:DNW. It made both their and my day, since they were apparently only there because their sister was there for the cheerleading competition.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I have once....kinda. Yeah, it was just a walk on and not much happened with it than that, but the good thing is I now know what to expect if I'd ever want to try again with a better cosplay (I entered with the first cosplay I really had a hand in making...didn't turn out as well as I'd like, so I'm revamping him).
What was your best masquerade experience?
I currently have no "best" masquerade experience. The one time I did the timing for my pre-show thing got messed up and I was waiting for about two - three hours before anything happened...
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Nope. None what-so-ever.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm in school, looking for a job, can kinda sew, and enjoy drawing and writing.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
As an answer to the first question (When did you begin cosplaying?), since there's apparently a character count on it: I'm not sure when "making costumes of my favorite video game/tv. show characters for halloween/any time I wanted to wear them" became cosplaying, but I'd think that dressing as mario in maybe first grade would count...
My favorite anime
Too Many To List Here
My favorite game(s)
I am a "Tales of" geek. If I have played one of the games from that series once through, at the very least, I can talk for hours on it. Other games include Jet Force Gemini, most Sonic games that came out before 2010, as well as most of the Legend of Zelda games.
My favorite book(s)
