What got you into cosplay?
My friend suggested we be Utena characters for Halloween one year, and we had a ton of fun, so I decided to wear my Juri costume when I went to Fanime the following spring. I ended up remaking it for Anime Expo, and I just enjoyed wearing it so much I wanted to keep making more costumes.
What was your first costume and why?
Actually, when I was about 5 I made my mom make me a Wily Kit costume. Sometime in about the 5th grade I made my first costume by myself - a random White Mage from Final Fantasy.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Whichever character I'm crushing on currently. Right now that is Rukia.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Chris from Suikoden 3. I adore Chris and I'd love to cosplay her, but I'd want to do it justice.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I miss Ali.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes, but I'd generally prefer not to spend my entire Saturday in costume.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes.
Tell us a little about yourself
I just finished my Master's at UCRiverside in literature, languages, and film. I currently work as a personal trainer and aerobics instructor. My hobbies of the moment are bike riding the OB book club.
I have one younger brother who is totally awesome.
