What got you into cosplay?
The alure of being someone you're not... hiding your identity behind costumes. I chose fursuits because instead of showing off your body, you show off your art.... ^^; Cuz I'm fat... So I hide behind the fur.
What was your first costume and why?
Okay... -honestly- my first costume was a ghetto Yamagatta from Akira... ^^; But I don't want to talk about that one... My first -real- costume was Tony Tony Chopper fursuit from One Piece becasue I wanted to blow people away with a character they never get to see cosplayed.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Vaporeon... It was just my best work, I think. The complex plastic mesh structure beneath the head work was... worth it, I think. It was durable, flashy, relatively cheap and looked nicely in our group. The comfort was pretty good... besides the heat.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
The forest spirit god from Mononoke... I plan on making the whole working leg structure with a system of pullies... To get the legs to bend right, I plan to be moving -backwards- in the costume navigating via mirror, and opperating the hind legs with my hands. Ayup. Dream costume.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Being able to remind people of things they used to play, like Neopets and Pokemon. Just hearing them say "Ooohhh Pokemon! I love that game!" or "Omg! I used to have a neopets account, but my guys have died cuz I never fed them!" XDDD its the greatest reaction I could ask for!
Do you participate in masquerades?
Only walk-ons... and not even. XD
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
1st place for Tails at Gencon Socal in the Potluck category and 2nd place for him at Nekocon; Maromi won 1st place at a ghettocon lol, CNUcon; Vaporeon and Jolteon and my sister's Flareon won best in show novice category in Otakon; Ixi Raider 2nd Place Craftsman Hall Costume Contest Otakon 2006; Gnarfas 3rd Place Craftsman Hall Costume Contest Otakon 2007
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a generally good natured person... I've been told I'm very funny. I guess its my sarcasm or rants. I started and ran the Tabb High School Anime Club for 4 years straight. My dictatorship brought the school... nothing. But we had fun.
My sister's my buddy. We have a lot in common and cosplay together. Its good to have her as an influence in my life.
I'm interested in cartooning, fursuiting, furries, WWII history, and a bunch of other stuff.
