What got you into cosplay?
I just recently got really into anime, and when I heard about cosplaying it sounded like so much fun that I had to try it out.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was (kinda) Sora from Digimon. I made a copy of the yellow shirt she wears in season one, which I wore during Animaritime 2004.
I chose Sora because Digimon will always hold a special place in my heart (it was a beloved anime before I was obsessed with anime), and she is my favourite character from the show.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Currently my favourite costume is Dark Phoenix, because it was more complicated than anything I had done before and, while that was frustrating at times it also was pretty rewarding when it was finally over.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have a dream to make a costume of Jargara from Wolf's Rain. I'm not sure if it's ever going to happen though.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Meeting up with my friend Katie, who I had met online, the first day of AnimeNorth 2004. The two of us, and her boyfriend Michael, were cosplaying the band Nittle Grasper from Gravitation. It was so cool to see Tohma and Noriko walking around, and knowing that I knew the latter, and would soon meet the former. Katie was the first person I ever met in real life after meeting her online, and it was so godly.
I also loved the fact that we were recognized right away, and we posing for pictures all over the place ^___^
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not as of yet.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a university graduate with a B.A. in English (who is a fan of Avenue Q, FYI). I'm currently trying to find a job in book publishing, after getting a certificate it in over the summer. I like to read and write and watch TV & movies, anime or otherwise.
