About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
Cowboy Bebop and the final acceptance that I just enjoy stretchy fabrics and, what is otherwise considered tacky, outfits. My not-so-guilty pleasures are making heads turn, sparkly objects, and being an utter goof half the time.
What was your first costume and why?
First costume: Little Red Riding Hood in 5th grade. First cosplay: a moogle that was awful.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My absolute favorite so far is the Leopard Print Catsuit from Lady Gaga's Telephone video. I've always wanted to own a catsuit. haaaaaa~!
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Hmm....yes. Absolutely. I want to do a generic maiko and cosplay Kyoko from SkipBeat! because I resemble her. Also a collaboration of Catwoman from her many outfits. And, Thumbelina's Beetle Ball gown
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
The photoshoot of Gaga, that car was perfect and I'd been lovingly eyeballing it for months. We got lucky since the guy that made the outfit was roommates with the owner. There was a moment where he wanted me to stick my legs out of the window and bend in half to the point of breaking to sit upright, but that wasn't happening without help. Lol, he's like "Can you do such and such?" and I tried and promptly collapsed backward in an awkward heap and sent out a muffled "Noooo...". We had to enlist a friend to prop my back up since my legs where overextended from the heels and forcing my ligaments to not act properly.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I have now though I still have massive stage fright. I find that if I can't see very well (ie without my glasses), then I can at least get on stage. Now whether that turns into full fledge panic depends on whether I've done some 'CALM THE **** DOWN GIRL!' exercises beforehand.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
YES! I have officially won 2nd place in the Dawn Lookalike Contest at DragonCon with my Seven Deadly Sins group~ I am super proud!!! :D
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a fourth year in undergrad for costume technology (yes, you can get a bachelor's in that). I cosplay much more often now and am constantly thinking of new stuff to make. I'm currently working toward opening a store/taking commissions but I have yet to get my plans completely together and feel confident enough to produce something for someone else. I have a love of stretchwear that knows no bounds. It fascinates me with it's speed, dexterity, and price.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I'm a HUGE asian drama geek. I mean, sit on my butt and watch the ridiculousness for hours huge. I regularly visit mysoju and recommend Mei-Chan no Shitsuji for general wtf-ckery.
My favorite anime
Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, Paradise Kiss, Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, and...uh....geeze....Fushigi Yuugi, which is horrible but it was one of my firsties and I just can't let it go. Also, Ouran Host Club, I love me some Honey-senpai, mostly because he's a cute cuddly package that while bite your frickin' face off.
My favorite game(s)
Final Fantasy (mostly 8, because it was first, and definitely 12), Harvest Moon (I own as much of that as I can get, up to oh....over seven versions now I think), Sims and Sims 2 ( I can't help it though...it's the control freak in me!), the classic Mario, Phantasy Star II and Populous (yes, I still own a working SegaGenesis and yes, I own Altered Beast)
My favorite book(s)
The Book of Lost Things, Watership Down, Blood and Chocolate (the movie was an atrocity)
My favorite character(s)
Kyoko from SkipBeat!, Integral from Hellsing, and surely a whole list of others that aren't roiling around my head right now.
My favorite movies(s)
The 10th Kingdom, Thumbelina, All Dogs Go to Heaven, Land Before Time, Titan A.E (are we seeing a pattern here?), Emperor's New Groove, and Road to El Dorado
My favorite actors/actresses
Romolo Wilkinson, not that he's probably going to see this or that you know who that is....yet.
