My real name is Eilidh (like hayley without the 'h' in case you're wondering :P) but my friends call me Eli (like Ellie), I'm 17, living in Glasgow in Scotland (that big piece of land above England!) and I've just finished my final year at school! I'm taking a gap year next year then I'm heading down to Liverpool to study Drama. Aside from cosplaying, I spend a lot of time on photoshop making icons of website layouts, designing websites or exploring and taking photos of abandoned buildings. I adore drama and singin and I watch a lot of TV with my favourite programmes being love Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Scrubs and The Mighty Boosh. I also love Disney, The Mighty Boosh and Wicked FAR too much.

What got you into cosplay?
Well, I had always loved Halloween and dressing up so when I found pictures of people dressing up as anime characters I wanted to join in! I fell in love with Princess Mononoke after my brother got it for his birthday and I did a search for images one day when I was bored. All the costmes that came up were amazing so I decided to have a go myself. Of course it was rubbish, as so many first cosplays are! But it was what started it all :P A few months later I found out about conventions and I met loads of new friends at my first one, Wildercon, in 2004.
What was your first costume and why?
Well, San and several other rubbish Halloween costumes aside, the first costume I made completely by myself (without the help of my Dad's girlfriend) would be Songstress Yuna. I was one of those insane Yuna fangirls at the time (hence the noobish username) so naturally I really wanted to make her costume and the Songstress one seemed to be the easiest. It was spectacularly awful XD
What is your favorite costume and why?
I love and hate most of my costumes for so many reasons XD I think Alice would be the costume I loved wearing most so far. Everyone recognised it, it was comfy and I got so many compliments. But I also really love Serina, although it's not great, I spent a looong, long time on it and learnt a lot from making it.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Well, I'd love to finish my Glinda costume and make it absolutely amazing since she is one of my favourite characers! I think most of my dream costumes are hers, especially her ball gown and Thank Goodness dress. Aside from Wicked, I would love to do Twilight Princess Zelda and there are quite a few Mitsuki (Full Moon wo Sagashite) and Sakura (Tsubasa and CCS) costumes I'd love to do and also Yuka from XXXHolic.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I have so many amazing experiences with all my friends but I think one of my favourites would be our Disney group at October London Expo 2007, there were a lot of kids around and they all wanted pictures with us, even though they weren't there for the event!
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yep!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
At Wildercon I won the "under 18's cosplay champ" award. I was really, really pleased and got a Chii plushie for winning. Also recently our huge Wild Arms group at Minamicon won the "there many not be enough prizes" award! Thankfully there were enough prizes ;D
