What got you into cosplay?
Honestly, my Ex. I had always heard about conventions from friends, but never really went along or anything. Then my Ex wanted to go and take me with her. I had no idea what to expect, but I wanted to cosplay still, so I did. The costume itself sucked, and I was so overwhelmed that it was hardly any fun, but I survived. And it gave me resolve to keep coming back, trying harder and harder!
What was your first costume and why?
I was a Custom Anbu Ops Ninja. I was trying to decide who I wanted to be. My first thought was Ichigo, but realizing I had less than a month, I was kinda unable to create all the needed costume parts.
So I stopped to think what I had, and what I would need, and realized I could be an Anbu ops Ninja. I had a DDR Ninja band, so I decided to base my village off of DDR.
The costume itself was absolute rubish, consisting of cut up clothing items I bought, and a couple pieces of shoulder armor which were originally shoulder pads for Soccer.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I've only had 2 costumes so far, so by no competition, I'd have to pick my Bankai Ichigo Robes.
Even if there were others, I would still pick this just because of all the time and effort I put into it myself. I made the Vizard Mask out of paper Mache, the robe is a retailored Reaper robe from Halloween, and my sword was bought online, but customized afterword to better resemble the show's sword.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yes, but it's not going to be a dream costume for long. I plan on making a NEW Shirosaki Cosplay come to life within this following month.
I've got the sword ready, Just have to make the robes and tailor them with the new additions [Fuzzy cuffs and collar] as well as the New mask me and my friend have Mached together.
I suppose after Shirosaki is complete, I'd like to cosplay as Vash the Stampede or Someone else rather tall xD
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I don't have many experiences, and this might get updated after Otakon 2010, but for right now, the most memorable Cosplay experience I have is of the Bleach Photoshoot @ Katsucon 2010. Just it was so fun watching everyone pose and getting all the right characters to make the photos come out excellently.
I hope to emulate and even surpass this memory with Otakon's Photoshoot!
Do you participate in masquerades?
Nah, I don't think it's really for me.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I have never even been asked for a photo before, let alone won an award xDD
But I'm still young to Cosplay Conventions, there is still hope yet!
