What got you into cosplay?
I like to dress up. I like to make things. I like anime. I just needed to be introduced to the concept and I took off with it.
What was your first costume and why?
Besides fantasy costuming, Sango for Sakura Con 2004. I loved her character the moment I saw her; she was the first one I ever looked at and said, "I'd like to be her at the next con."
What is your favorite costume and why?
Akane, school uniform version. I just really love her character, which is probably why I have the most outfits for her (three so far) and have about half a dozen more planned for the next couple years. I'd like to replace the wig with a slightly longer version soon, but the costume itself is really cute and comfortable.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Akane's Juliet outfit, which is nearing completion. It's one of my all-time favorite outfits and I'm so happy I get to make it finally after saying "someday" for over four years. I even got to use velvet just like I always wanted.
Upcoming, Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke. I'd like to do the whole thing, all weapons, riding chaps, rain gear, the whole nine yards. I'd also like to have the ability to do every version of him, including the shirtless one from the end of the movie.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Kagome. I had my bike and a ton of props. People loved it. Lum's always memorable, but for slightly different reasons.
Having Scott McNeil tell me I was the best Merle ever was pretty cool too.
My favorite anime
Vision of Escaflowne (all time favorite), Ranma 1/2, Mermaid Forest, Urusei Yatsura, Kaleido Star, Honey and Clover, Fullmetal Panic, Yu Yu Hakusho, PLANETES, Mushishi, Monster, and Digimon. I have a weakness for Dragonball (all series, but the original especially). And Pokemon.

Mermaid Saga, Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, Ah My Goddess, Rurouni Kenshin, Baby and Me, Blade for Barter, Shaman King, Fullmetal Alchemist, xxxHolic, Cardcaptor Sakura, Legend of Chun Hyang, Case Closed, Kindaichi Case Files. I also love "The Dark is Rising" Sequence and the Redwall series.

Akane from Ranma 1/2 (and pretty much the rest of the cast as well), Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho, Yuuko from Holic and Tomoyo from Cardcaptor Sakura/Tsubasa, Belldandy and Keiichi from the Ah My Goddess manga, Lum from Urusei Yatsura, and Ken from Kaleido Star. Also, the Ghibli boys: Pazu from Laputa, Tombo from Kiki's Delivery Service, and Ashitaka from Mononoke.
