What got you into cosplay?
For some reason, it always just seemed to go with the convention experience. If I was gonna attend a con, cosplay was the way to go. ^_^ The beautiful costumes of others both made me stare in admiration and also say "Wow, I bet *I* could pull that off..." Falling in love with the character of Yuna from Final Fantasy X got the ball rolling.
And that, as they say, is that. ;D
What was your first costume and why?
I first WORE Aisha ClanClan of Outlaw Star, but it was a commission, horridly inaccurate, and ugly. Let's never speak of it again.
My first self-made outfit was Summoner Yuna from Final Fantasy X. I doubt this needs explanation since I've hammered it into the heads of the general population for years now, but everything about her is incredible. She is strong-willed, beautiful, innocent, driven... plus I can resemble her at times, have the same body type, and find that I handle many situations in life as she would. Basically I took her outfit as my very first cosplay challenge. I admit, my first shot wasn't all that great...but now after 2 revamps, I really have something special. ^^
What is your favorite costume and why?
Craftsmanship-wise, Rinoa Heartilly. It is my most accurate work, and I poured my soul into everything from finding perfect ribknit fabric (and just barely coloring it a different blue) to making my Rising Sun weapon... which may as well be my child.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yuna's FFX Wedding Dress with an accurate, feather-full interior... but that would require an act of engineering, not sewing. :O
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I have 3.
1. Being a backup dancer for Japanese pop singer Yoko Ishida at her AnimeCentral concert
2. Emceeing Anime Sound & Vision and thus spending the weekend with Kamui, the fight choreographers/Crazy 88 of Quentin Tarantino's movie Kill Bill
3. EVERYTHING CHILDREN SAY TO ME when I am dressed as Narcissa Malfoy. <3
Do you participate in masquerades?
You bet!
What was your best masquerade experience?
Winning my very first cosplay award at Kazecon 2003 as Thief Yuna. Joined by Miss Valentine/Sassy, and my new friends John and Michael, I had a blast...and our group took the "Best In Show: Presentation/Skit" Award. An amazing night...
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
"Best In Show: Presentation/Skit" at Kazecon 2003, as mentioned above.
"Honorable Mention (2nd Place) Presentation" at AnimeCentral 2004
"2nd Place (Cosplay Idol)" at AnimeReactor 2004
"Best in Show: Individual Presentation" at Ohayocon 2006
"Best in Show: Craftsmanship/Performance" at Geek.kon 2007
Tell us a little about yourself
I am currently a Senior in college over at good old Bradley University. While I still love to go to cons to cosplay and teach Para Para dancing, it has become a smaller aspect of my studious life. I am a Radio/TV (Electronic Media) major, theatre minor, and literature minor. My biggest projects right now are the Barbeque Kitten Improv and Sketch comedy troupe and the theatre program. It is an adventure every day, and I am glad to share it with you all!
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I'M CAPTAIN OF THE GRAVY TRAIN.

Final Fantasy X is my ultimate favorite...but I'm also a huge fan of VII, VIII and X-2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Kingdom Hearts I & II, Katamari Damacy...
