What got you into cosplay?
I saw everyone else walking around looking really cool and in some cases just like the character and wanted to join in with the fun.
What was your first costume and why?
My first official costume was Claire Lionelli from Heat Guy J @ Otakon 2004 because it was easy to pull together and I could really act like him. ^^
What is your favorite costume and why?
My Rose Bride costume is now (and probably forever) my all time favorite costume. Period. I have so many people coming up to me for pictures and complimenting me when I wear this; it's amazing. At times I'm overwhelmed. I thought Otakon was awesome when I first debuted this costume with the photoshoot and all but AnimeUSA 2006 was beyond words. So many comments and photos and most of all, this Anthy got to meet her Touga (Crispin Freeman)! I love this costume because it was a long time in the making and now that I have it, I just love it to death. This costume wouldn't be half as great if it weren't for my friends who pushed me to buy it or all the people who comment on it. Thank you everyone!!! *glomp* Plus... I love being the Rose Bride. I have the power to revolutionize the world ^^
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Anyone of Count D's costumes from the PetShop of Horrors. You don't see people doing Count D now do you?
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
The Anime Dating Game at AnimeUSA 2007. I don't know how to even begin describing it. [laughs] Everyone was in character, the costumes were great and it was absolutely hilarious. What made it even more memorable is that my good friend EMP_Maniac and I were in the same round! XD Best. Event. Ever. And I recommend that others try it out or demand it at your favorite con! =^_^=
Do you participate in masquerades?
I have once and I might do it again.
What was your best masquerade experience?
My best masquerade experience came from Katsucon 2006 when I got to perform with a good friend of mine, EMP_Maniac and his friends. It was my first performance and I had sooo much fun crying and dancing XD. Plus it was great hanging out with his buddies, before, during and after all the skit madness plus I won my first award. W00T! BEST. MASQUERADE. EXPERIENCE. EVER. XD
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
.... not yet. One day I'm going make a costume of my own and enter it into a hall cosplay contest and see what happens. ^^
Tell us a little about yourself
I am a freshman in college majoring in Asian Studies. I'm preparing to travel to Japan next spring to complete my course work. I collect anime goods and love listening to music, eating different foods, watching movies and making lists.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I speak about 30% of Japanese and I know a few other languages including French, Spanish, Chinese, German, Swedish, Latin, Romanian, and Italian. I've also been told I have a certain aura about me that inspires and frightens at the same time. I'm also a freelance artist and novelist and an uber Devil May Cry fan.
