What got you into cosplay?
Anime and manga, of course. Mind you, I had no clue what it was until I attended my first anime convention (Anime Banzai) way back in 2005, back when I was all ickle and cute. As soon as I saw it, I was hooked, and there's no going back.
What was your first costume and why?
Officially, Light Yagami from Death Note. I was really into it back in the day, and I wanted an easy cosplay that I could make with a single trip to my local thrift-shop without braking the bank. Not to mention that I really do love the character. He was definitely a blast to cosplay, but I don't think I'll ever revamp it.
What is your favorite costume and why?
N Harmonia from Pokemon Black and White. I loved making all of the accessories, it was a blast. And I've never cosplayed a character who was from one of the hottest video-games at the time, usually, I play characters from older media. So to cosplay from something that came out that year, and to be so recognized, it was awesome.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Way too many to even name.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Tying into my favorite costume, this is the number one reason why it's my favorite. As I was driving to the convention, I was in full costume and due to the stupid person next to me, I couldn't get into the right lane (When I went faster, they went faster, and when I slowed down, they slowed down. Seriously) and was forced to take a wrong turn...that lead me directly into the air-force base. When I arrived at the little shack, the officer there just sort of went "O____O; What are you doing here?" and I shuffled about and said, "I took a wrong turn, I just need to turn around," He nodded, but the look on his face was effing priceless.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I'd like to, but I haven't yet.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Not yet. Maybe one day. Nah, probably not [/Shot]
Tell us a little about yourself
...Covered in cheese-sauce </3
I'm currently attending my local community college, I'm studying Criminal Justice and one day, I'd like to clean up the streets by making scum-bags get their just desserts. I studied Illustration for two years, but I realized that I'm just too stubborn to be a commercial artist. I want MY art MY way! And that's never gonna change. Even though I switched majors, that doesn't mean that I don't love art, because I still do, and very very much. Art is an extremely large part of my life, and I still consider myself an artist, in every sense of the word.
Obvious, cosplay is one of my biggest hobbies, but outside of that; I play a lot of video games (No, none of that lame-ass MMORPG crap, but REAL video games, on a classic system, with one player in one room and marathon nights fueled with honey-BBQ Frito twists and Monster Energy Drinks. The way that gaming should be!) I'm a big fan of Survival / Horror games, along with classic RPGs, strategy games, and simulation genres.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I am an extremely proud FtM. Don't know what that means, do you? (Ahem) I was born with girly parts, but my brain is all man, and I'm currently working on aligning the two.
