I've been cosplaying for about seven years and going to cons for about the same period of time. It's an important part of my life, but it's not serious business. When I'm not parading around in frilly dresses, I work a full-time job at a Verizon corparate subsidiary. I'm a GWU grad with a degree in English and going back to grad school for a Master's in the same major. I speak a little Spanish (thanks to me being half Cuban) and I write a lot, mainly novels. See? There's more to me under the costumes. XD

What got you into cosplay?
The designs, color and beauty of certain outfits of anime characters made me wonder what they would look like on me.
What was your first costume and why?
I've always loved Anthy from Revolutionary Girl Utena and I've always wanted to cosplay as her.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My Fire Nation Katara costume. It was SO comfortable to move around in and it was fun choosing the right silk fabrics for the outfit.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Anthy's Takurazuka-style dress from that one cover of Animerica. I think if I can pull that off well, I can retire from cosplaying happily.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
When I was at Otakon 2004, I was kidnapped by the pimp Utena and forced to take a picture with her. That seriously freaked me out! >_<
Do you participate in masquerades?
I participated in one at Anime USA 2004.

Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I haven't really entered in any hall costume contests, mainly because they take up a lot of time. I do plan to start competing later this year though.
Tell us a little about yourself
I am a recent college grad from George Washington Universty and am going to grad school soon. I have a mom, dad, and younger sister. I love watching anime and playing video games. That's...pretty much it.
