What got you into cosplay?
Umm...I guess just seeing other people doing it. Dressing up is great fun and I love working with my hands, though sewing can be difficult (especially when I'm impatient...heh...). I love the great costumes that characters wear in anime and it's fun to try and emulate them.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was a cute little witch outfit complete with hat and cape. I think my mom made it for me...I was a toddler...But my first cosplay was Pepper from Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar. I cosplayed her mostly because her outfit looked doable for a newbie like me and also because I had the glasses, long hair, and blue head scarf already.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I'd like to make one of Sakura's outfits from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle some time in the future, or any other outrageously gorgeous CLAMP outfit. An "accurate" Princess Tutu costume is another dream costume.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Cosplaying as Renge from Ouran High School Host Club with buddies from the same series at Fanimecon 2007 and getting stopped every 5 minutes for picture requests and also my first ever hug request. It was very flattering!
Do you participate in masquerades?
I have once and it was awkward, but I'd like to do so more inthe future.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Just one: a hall cosplay award for my Wa-loli dress at Tales of Anime 2007. I know it's minor, but still a highlight to me!
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently working at a pharmaceutical company doing lots of lab research. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to dance; mostly Ballet and Jazz, but social dance like Swing is great fun too! I recently discovered Contra and want to try English dance (a la Pride and Prejudice) soon. I enjoy playing my favorite instrument, my voice! Of course anime, manga, and cosplay are hobbies too.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I'm a Christian ^_^. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died on the cross for my sins, and that belief in Him and surrender of my life for His glory gives me salvation.
