What got you into cosplay?
Dokudel has been my friend since high school and been secretly trying to sway me into the cosplay scene. I always enjoyed the concept of dressing up and pretending to be my favorite characters. It wasn't until I went to my first convention at Otakon '09 that I finally decided to make a costume.
What was your first costume and why?
The Witch from Left4Dead. After having been to my first con, I saw what fun it would be to cosplay and since my friend and I were obsessed with L4D at the time, it only seemed natural that it be our first cosplay. Unfortunately, my friend's costume wasn't done in time, but I was still able to wear mine.
What is your favorite costume and why?
So far my favorite costume is my Poison Ivy. My mother and I originally put it together for my sister, but I wore it a couple of times afterwards. It's simple, easy, and sexy. It was a fun to make our own version of the costume, even if gluing all the leaves was a pain.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I've had two comic creators at New York and San Diego Comic Con run up to me extremely excited that I was cosplaying the character that they designed and created. One was in my Bizarro Supergirl outfit and the other in my Earth 2 Wonder Woman. I could really tell I made their day.
Do you participate in masquerades?
No, I haven't been in one yet. My friends and I have played with the idea, so maybe one day. But for now, it's just been fun gallivanting around the con floors.
