About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
I had always wanted to go to Anime Expo being the biggest Otaku probably in my whole town. But my little cousin who started liking anime after me got to go first! (Though only for a day). That did not fly, lol, just because she lives closer. So I had to go the next year (worst/best experience ever, lol). And what's the point of going to a con if you don't dress up? Well, that's me, a theatre kid who LOVES costumes, speaking. ;)
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Forte from Mamotte Lollipop. Well, it was the first cosplay that I wore (this obviously doesn't count theatre costumes...I don't even remember the first of those!), even though it was the last one I made that year (getting the brown suit together the day of the con!). The first cosplay that I made the entire thing for was Suzaku Kururugi from Code Geass. It...needs a lot of work...
What is your favorite costume and why?
I love all of my costumes *o* (even the ones that need fixing or work...I know with just a little love they could be epic, too). Probably my Sakura costume from Tsubasa, though, because it has about two hundred bells on it and heads turn when I wear that thing. X3
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I'd really like to make a Sue costme from Clover. But that will take a lot of skill...and money. I'll wait until I'm in college to make THAT debut. >< I'd also really like to do a Hokuto cosplay from Tokyo Babylon. But I demand a good Subaru and Seishirou to do that! *o* It would be so epic...I know, I'm all CLAMP-ed out. ;)
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Dressing up as Asuka Langely Sohryu for Anime Expo. I put a lot of thought into that costume because Asuka is one of my favorite girl anime characters and from my favorite series of all time. My cousin was Rei, and since we'd been having such a cally time at the con before, that last day was special. People were actually talking to us! They actually recognized us! And we met a lot of great fellow Eva fans. We even got interviewed by a podcast! I was happy that so many people shared my love for Evangelion. My favorite part of the day was getting into a large group fight over who was better: Rei or Asuka. Asuka of course!
Do you participate in masquerades?
I want to this year. Hopefully our application is accepted. -Bites nails- It will be my group's first time. But since it was out first time, there was a lot of stuff we didn't know...But we've worked so hard on our costumes, it will be a bummer if we don't get in. ^-^; --- After out first incredibly fun but incredibly FAIL experience, I've revved up again for this year. We've literally been working on it since July, so I think it will be a lot better than our rushed experience last year @,@. Plus our group has grown exponentially. And I already have ideas for next year. I'm really excited. ><
What was your best masquerade experience?
Getting night high underneathe the theatre at Anime Expo. We met so many amazing, fun, and friendly people that night and I'm happy that they all put up with our newbish excitement and craziness. I was sooooo tired though after spending nights without sleep and days without food and over exercise. I wanted to be the one in the wheelchair! Lol! Instead I had to push it. U,U
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
None...Yet! :D
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a super nerdy high school student looking forward to my senior year! Hi-CHA! (* Lol Senior year is actually not very Hi-CHA at all...unless Hi-CHA represents the pain of having no free time). I hope to go to school in Boston (*Now it's Providence ><), plus I heard that they have a huge con over there so that makes me feel a bit relieved. It would suck having to miss AX every year while my underlings got to live it up (Hell no I'm still going next year, now that we have an epic Masq idea!)! I'm a school-first type of person...well...not really. I actually hate school. But I try really hard so that I can get into a good college (-crosses fingers-). I'm an artist before ALL else. Writing, drawing, acting...basically I like to call myself a creator (if you can't tell, I'm the bitch of our cosplay group...stage pictures, guys! Hey, somebody has to be ;P). Plus, of course, I'm a rabid anime fan. Like the only one at my school, lol. But this means that I spend too much money on things my parents say are wastes. But hec! Why would I want to spend the money on stupid clothes I'll never wear anyway when I can buy a new anime to give me inspiration for my next work or finally order Copic markers to actually make my drawings look good? But I have to say my parents have been pretty supportive, seeing as they have an Otaku for a kid. ><
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Lol I could go on forever. I'm loquacious like that. :P I probably won't be on this site much for a while though because I think I take horrible photos and Internet chatsites have scared me ever since a terrifying experience in ninth grade...>.> (We're actually hiring a photographer this year so maybe I'll finally have nice cosplay photos). I MMORPG all the time though! God I love to RPG, any kind! I guess that's what (can) make me a good cosplayer! Theatre kids for the win!
